This is actually quite good. The gameplay mechanics are there and collision detection is acceptable. The graphics need huge development though as it is completely greyscale, which makes the experience slightly dull. You need to work on smoothing the edges of the platforms to remove blobs of whiteness and reduce sharpness. The ability to slide gives it a further dimensional beyond Canabalt, and the coins make a great addition. It is worth working on the visual polish on this because the execution is successful.
I was immediately impressed by an array of special effects and animations. This is better than mediocre. The fine additions give a new dimension to the game and the size and speed eliminates the usual dull repetitiveness of having to aim for tiny blocks on huge grids. However the package could benefit from a pause and mute button.
This is undeveloped and disappointing. It should be obvious that targets are needed in order to advance. Try the Kongregate shooting tutorials and look for basic programming codes.
This is somewhat encouraging. The mechanics seem acceptable, although the collision with the spike should be with the spike and not an invisible rectangle that it is in. Also I can jump up through platforms. Graphically it is very basic; it shows a great lack of effort at this time. Also without sound in it is wholly inadequate as a finished project. However what I can see very clearly is the potential to commit to a great platformer that with care, length and various exciting gameplay elements, could be fantastic. Your games now need substance.
Advertising, of any type without the backing of a good solid game makes me feel uncomfortable. An appeal for humanitarian assistance through financial incentives is a worthwhile cause, but it still counts as advertising. Apart from a limited choice of avatars there is no concept or basis for interactive gameplay which is extremely disappointing. An appeal like this could have much better presentation and various slides with small mini games or more detailed information including hot lines, location of aid centres or latest developmental news.
This is an absolute mess. It is lacking in effort, elegance, style and excitement. Please work for some time on straightening the lines, giving them colour and making the courses as detailed as possible.
The game is screaming out for speed and action. It needs to be a lot more entertaining. Try increasing the frame rate and adding some light trails to the ball.
I can confirm that InevDt's solution appears to adequately resolve the problem of frozen kill counts for the "Week of the Living Dead - Day 1" challenge.
