My big complaint is that it seems my score is in some way randomly affected by when the buzzers sound for the shots. If the buzzer takes a while, then my score goes up (unless I'm misreading something). I would change it so that it records time after buzzer, not total time.
I wonder if this game wouldn't be much better if you just upped your frame rate setting in Flash. Is this still on the default 12? Or did you have to keep it down to avoid slowdown? Either way, could be entertaining if, as others have said, the animation were smoother.
Oh, boo - only six levels...
Well, honestly, it's a cool game with some nice animations/particle effects. Controls are good though sometimes I feel like I don't have great control over the bullets. I worry about the speed upgrades - I only had one and that was about as fast as I'd like to be. Other than that, cool game - though I worry about long-term replay value if this is supposed to be a purchase game. :-/
Good stuff, good puzzles - well executed. Quick minor suggestion: map "r" to "reset" so I don't have to reset my aim to restart (but can still quickly do so without just running my ammo out).
Well I hardly think that's fair, Mandini. The game is complex, and by no means easy, but I wouldn't say stupid. I haven't had the patience to solve a full round, but it's an interesting idea. I'll give it another shot later. Thanks for coming up with an original take on solitaire!
Bravo! Fun, unusual gameplay with some excellent animation and a great sense of humor. I agree, an "evil mode" would be fun where you try to kill as many as possible. One simple improvement: I'd love some sort of progress meter. I almost stopped because I didn't think it had an end.
I won't dwell on the balance issues everyone else has mentioned. I like the variety of weapons, the nice graphics (very impressive to keep all blood, bodies, and bullets on screen!), and the good control. Can't wait to see version 2!
1.734 is my best. :-D (then again, I played this a lot last year when it got popular at my school...). A fun game though - still entertains, though limited replay value unless you get easily obsessed.
Btw renny141, there is a backwards version online if you google for it (perhaps called regnif yznerf?).
I agree with the previous comment - this is one of the most solid games on the website, but the pacing is very slow. It doesn't need to be breakneck, but we shouldn't be sitting around and waiting for more badguys to appear. Overall though, very good!
I think my favorite part of this game is the inherent contradiction that it presents. It has an unquestionable soothing atmosphere paralleled only by Orisinal games (Google it if interested), and yet is intensely frustrating. :)
JohnSteel...you tend to get kicked in the nuts repeatedly??
Seriously, I liked it. A nice quick'n'dirty Monopoly variant. Let's me get my Monopoly fix without losing an hour of my life, all with nice presentation, controls, and only slightly annoying music. :-)
The original was definitely better, since in this one there is no penalty for self-destruction (besides a brief wait before you can do it again). In the previous one (and Every Extend, which utilized time and lives), you would lose time when you self-destructed, meaning you had to pick your shots carefully. Here, you can just blow the crap out of everything all the time, and I think that hurts the game.
Let's be clear: this game is not original. It's a very close copy of a computer game called "Every Extend" (of which a sequel was recently released for PSP). That said, it is well done, has some humor, and is fun to play. I give it credit for making an excellent browser version of Every Extend.
This game is an odd one to review. The presentation is fine, music and graphics fit, the uh...control...is solid. Ultimately, it's not really a game, except for the fantastic feature of comparing to every other player. That's the real reason this works, and makes it quite fun in my opinion.
Wonderful game. It's a simple concept that's been done before, but this one is slick, quick, and introduces some new ideas/traps to make a really just solid game out of it.
Wow - this is freakin' fantastic. The game itself is obviously simple (though I would love the option to control with arrow keys) but the presentation is fantastic! I love music-synched games (every played Rez??) - it really creates a very different experience, and you've done an excellent job capturing that, while still creating a fun, and freakin' hard, game! Bravo!
Oh, and as disturbing as it is, nice job integrating (what I assume is) Google Earth into the game. Gives it an extra feel of realism (scary as that is). ;-)
