A well-made diamond in the rough. I'm thoroughly impressed with the pleasant music, simple graphics, and the tried-&-true game mechanics. Other developers should take notes from SilenGames and perhaps they could learn that you don't need to try too hard to make a decent submission. 5/5. Keep up the good work.
I forgot to mention in my previous comment that I've given this game 3 out of 5 stars, alas, no favorite though. Good game. I hope you take this criticism and improve upon it.
I'm not sure what sort of problem everyone else is having but to me, this game is rather fun. I haven't finished it yet but I certainly intend to- The music is unique and pleasant to hear at first but it does get a little repetitive. My only peeves are how useless some of the upgraded classes are-Namely the Water Mage, Elf, and Barbarian. They have a slight jump on damage than their counterparts but are SO SLOW it's not worth it. You may want to look into balancing that.
@RafV - You shouldn't even be using an ad blocker in the first place. (1.) It's not entirely legal. (2.) Admitting to its use makes you look like an ass. How self-important do you have to feel that you shouldn't have to look at a company's ads ever? And why should a developer have to bend over backwards because you can't be troubled to disable it just to play his game? Prick.
A touching little game with simple mechanics and pleasant music. The upgrade shop is a nice thought, but I feel it isn't well-developed. More upgrades and an overall lower cost would ease the difficulty a bit, such as a coin magnet radius and making it easier to grab at the bombs- I did not get to the end as I was too frustrated at missing bombs that would hit a cluster of balloons and drop me about 1500 meters. Overall it's a decent timekiller and has wonderful potential. I give it 3 out of 5, as it doesn't quite live up to what it could be.
This will cut your damage severely at -5% spell damage per point, with no real decent trade-off. Afterwards, you'll want to max Empowered Lightning and Nature's Guardian. You don't need to get Tornado but it's decent crowd control. While you follow this guide, it's crucial that you pour your money into movement speed, MP Regen, Max Mana, and keep your health boosted every now and then. If you find your wall getting taken down too fast, invest money in raising its max HP and don't forget to use Earthmend when there's no enemies rushing you on-screen.
After reading through the comments, I've learned that with the difficult default control scheme and the overall steep difficulty curve of the game, others might be having trouble. Here's some tips to get you going: You'll definitely want to start out under the Fire branch. It has the second best damage output plus it has Damage over Time, which'll help you conserve mana (trust me, it goes pretty quick.) Once you've gotten several levels under your belt and the waves start picking up more difficulty (some way in after you start getting armored orcs) you'll want to re-spec and pour your points into Nature. You'll want to master N. Adept, N. Mastery, and get Chain Lightning as soon as possible (this will be your main spell, Lightning Bolt mopping up anything left) You'll want Earthmend (to heal the wall inbetween waves) and Healing Aura (definitely a life-saver, no pun intended) DO. NOT. GET. RESTORATIVE AURA.
A pretty decent game for a second go at flash making. I think you have real potential. Keep up the great work, and don't get discouraged! I understand how tiresome coding is, but going that extra length will be the difference between a horrible, unoriginal piece to something truly respectable. 4/5 and a Fave from me.
thank you for the encouragement. and the in-depth analysis of strategy. fire is indeed better until the lightning spells catch up and healing comes along. i agree wholeheartedly.
With all the time (no pun intended) spent standing there thinking about how much time he doesn't have, he could have done a good chunk of that paperwork! Now I don't feel so bad for him.
Ever since I saw (and subsequently played) TLS:UC on ArmorGames, I prayed it would be made available on Kongregate. My prayers have been answered. I can vouch for how awesome this game is, but the only troubles I see are some derpy dialogue lines, the lack of partner options, and the ability to sell (if you can spen an assload of money on buying weapons from the King, why can't you sell back to him?) items, and the game was just a little too short in my opinion... Regardless, I gave this game an immediate 5/5 and a fave. All that would be left afterwards is to get this game some badges!
I knew that I would instantly like this game the minute I started playing it, and I was correct. It has everything I loved about Murloc RPG, if only just slightly polished, but it still has everything I knew and loved from the original. I'm looking forward to the other episodes! 5/5 + Fav'd.
inb4comment on the fact that piranhas aren't as vicious as the media makes them out to be. They'll only swarm and attack if they're absolutely starving. Oh wait...
Congratulations on the awesome work you did with Parasite Strike! The customization and storyline really sold it for me despite having a few redundancies, but awesome none-the-less. It leans back on a classic SNES side-scroller called U.N. Squadron that had several ship and weapon customization of its own, and I can definitely detect the inspiration with the HUD and fighter styles. 5/5 + Fave.
I first spotted TREBL a while back on Newgrounds and had known you were working on sequels but I hadn't been keeping up with your work. I'm here on Kongregate now and I'm attempting to play this one but it doesn't seem to work. I also went back to the Newgrounds version and still nothing. Am I being an impatient twat or is there something that needs to be done to fix this? I'm stuck at the orange screen right after clicking "PLAY" and it says CONNECTING TO MOCHI.
The relaxing music and simple game-play creates an atmosphere where one can sit back and enjoy everything this has to offer. I'm looking forward to more quality work such as this from the developer.
@tonchairo
Uh, no they didn't. I'm pretty sure that it's spelled ACHIEVEMENT, as it is in-game. The only case where ACHIEVEMENT is spelled wrong is in your comment.
