So, the AI has some issues with threat assessment. Essentially, if there is an enemy that can hit you while it's out of your range to counter attack, your units will just sit there and let themselves be killed.
There needs to be some sort of logic that when a unit is idle, if there are any enemies on the map, to walk over there and attack them.
I can write tons of behavior scripts and automate any actions, but don't think that the players will appreciate it: it's not so fun just to sit and watch your troops dealing with any trouble without direct control.
The blackjack odds are slightly in your favor... You can start with as little as $20, and make as much money as you want. Just gamble at denominations you can afford and you'll eventually be rich, and as you gradually get more money, you can gamble larger bets and make even more money. When you're really rich, you can max out a couple of horses at the stable and have a consistent source of income.
