Just to say Elona (not this one, the roguelike prequel) was mentioned on Chronicart.com (a great french magazine) recently, in an article about Dungeon Crawl StoneSoup.
Those comments make me wanna smash my computer like that famous angry german kid...if you don't know what to push in front of a goddamn door, if you don't get the obvious Nintendo reference on the game over screen, you shouldn't be allowed to play video games at all. Is it too difficult to learn a few things about your own culture instead of whining ?
Just got all four badges in one sitting, I really liked the game but there's definetely room for improvement. The biggest issue is the lack of challenge once you get the vanguard and a full party with mithril armors and claymores, which happens very quickly. After that, enemies are no longer a problem and conquering towns is far too random, you just hope you get a good first hit and retry if you lose. Everything has been said about the glitches, the only way to avoid the most common of them is to wait a few seconds after each fight before clicking "Go".
How am I supposed to see enemy shots when they are the same color as mine ? Number one step for making a good shmup...if this wasn't part of the begginer quest, I would never have played more than 5 minutes, now i'm almost embarassed I got that easy badge
Probably the most depressing game ever. I don't even know how to rate this, I won't play again anytime soon, but it's definetely something unique. (Sorry for my broken English)
