I really enjoyed the first games but the choice of Unity virtually guarantees that I won't be playing this one, at least not until I'm desperate enough to bother opening/updating Firefox. Now, I've read the comments and know that the developer has an OpenGL version available but it's too large for Kongregate. Given that my iPhone will let me download 100 MB apps over cell networks, maybe Kongregate needs to up its limit for games beyond 50 MB. Sure, data is money but if Kongregate wants the best games and to have them be broadly compatible, it's time to move the chains.

Just completed it on dagger. The difficulty curve on this game is bizarre. Got through all three doors in no time but nearly had to max out my character to beat the final boss. A lot of XP and soul grinding. Some general tips: 1) Take Your XP and Soul bonuses in the skill tree, very helpful with the grinding element. 2) I completed it on dagger, my advice is to invest your resources in regen and defense. When facing the boss, leap in, tank some damage, spam your special and GTFO for a bit and let your regen take over. 3) Best way to grin. Knock open the third door and beat the big guys and the blue and red anteater looking things. They give mammoth flames of XP and souls. Great for leveling up fast. Was able to afford most expensive weapon early.

If you're one of those, like me, who found this game to be far too laggy to play, try it in Firefox. Game does not seem to work in Chrome but plays beautifully in Firefox. Annoying to have to use another browser but there you have it.

Just finished the game, a few quick tips for anyone struggling as these made life a LOT easier. 1: Get the Deathrbinger. Combined with damage upgrades, lays down a lot of pain quickly. 2: The resurrection trophy gives you a full life bar after revival and works once per attempt, doubling your life. Combined with the resurrection upgrade you can (50% of the time) get three lives. 3: The coin magnet doesn't just draw cash but also power ups. Really useful for getting life, weapons and energy on the fly even after money is meaningless. 4: Ended up using the chainsaw trophy for my sword. Required little power and was constantly going. Tried to focus mostly on guns. 5: For injectables I just used health. That way, if I died once I could just spam health to stay alive and not have to take a risk on dying twice. How I beat the final boss. 6: Speaking of which, beat the pirate cove level and get the pirate rum, makes all injectables, including health, more effective... Hope that helps some!

This game is the pinnacle of frustration. I rather enjoy idle games like this, but every time the game gets working relatively well, the developer feels the need to "improve" it and inevitably breaks something. The game did not need it's third UI, Gold Bars or a fancy animation when you buy stuff. All it might have needed was some rebalancing and speed tweaks. Instead, just days after the game crashed 2x due to plugin issues, we got another major overhaul that broke overnight progress, placed upgrades out of order and removed our bonus plaques. Now, during a critical time in the game, the 15x Black Friday rush, loyal fans of it are screwed because the developer decided to mess with something that was working fine. If you stopped "fixing" the game, you might not be really fixing it as much. I'm sorry for my tone, but it's really frustrating to wake up in the morning and realize my overnight progress is lost and my 15x bonus is gone.
