The back key for upgrades and prestige would be better if put closer to the actual upgrade and prestige buttons. Going all the way to the bottom is annoying. I know, it seems petty, but you'd be surprised how much a difference it makes.
Stephen959, the heat from outlets isn't applied evenly to all outlets. If you pay close attention you'll see some outlets running hot while others run cool, then they'll swap and the cool ones will run hot. Basically this means that you can never reach your maximum cooling because the outlets will make very close systems like yours explode when the outlets start running hot.

Allow the cells to vent into the reactor (don't put any cooling elements directly on them) and then place a bank of exchangers connected to vents somewhere else in the reactor. The exchangers will pull the heat back out of the reactor and use the vents to cool it down. You could also place a cooling cell next to the power cell and then have exchangers pull heat from the cooling cell into fans to cool down the cooling cell.
The little circles that move across the screen are what make the game for me (as opposed to breaking it). I'm not even kidding. Without them the game would feel so static that I would have grown bored with it very quickly. It's amazing what such a small feature can do.
You say that you made the game 'harder' but I'm not sure I can agree with you. The item drop speed is so much vastly slower that rather than being 'harder' it's just 'grindier'. I stopped playing because I got bored of grinding up a good weapon after resetting, but I imagine the first gold weapon I get would propel me way forward. I honestly thought it was harder before because I would push myself to try and risk going up that one extra level and risking dying. Now I'd just leave it for an hour and come back to see if I got better gear, swap it out, find new optimal grinding level, grind again. Just some food for thought.
I found no use for anything other than the main battle cannons (machine gun, plasma, spreader) and shields. The AI frustrated me to no end with EMP, though. It was very easy to farm health by just going back, even if I had to fight. With all my shields they couldn't hurt me anyway.
The level system to force players to continually replay it until they get a good enough start was... offputting. I almost quit when I realized I'd have to grind up just to have a fair chance. As it stands I'm not going to play hard because of it.
That being said the initial grind is hard until you get the plasma. Then the difficulty is relatively fine.
Thanks for playing and sharing your experiences! The level system was more intended to be a consolation so that you get rewarded a little even if you die during a campaign. Furthermore it should allow you to move faster to the right in the beginning of a new campaign so you can get to the more challenging battles faster with each new attempt. So it was not my intention to make a game where you have to grind up to have a chance at beating the game. Hard mode might be extra tough without leveling up before, but I assume that most players should have earned some levels before on medium before trying hard mode so they should be on a higher level by then already.
The clicking aspect becomes worthless since I get stuck with my auto clicking clicking more than the entire size of the file, and no way to get a bigger file because I'm stuck with the strict '4 per level'.
