The cat reminds me of my own cat, in that it's completely useless against all the rats. Of course, given that some of the rats seem to be the size of a small car, maybe I can't blame it.
peoro: When a gem hasn't been touched, it stands up straight. If it has been touched (even if it's returned all the way to the cave), it's lying on its side.
SillyGuy: you can't take Ukraine on your first turn, it's true. But you can and should take it (along with India obviously) on your second turn. From there it's easy.
Well, I might be the only person to have actually finished this...not a bad platformer, certainly deserves a little more recognition than it seems to have gotten so far. That said, more explanation of the powerups would probably be a good idea (especially the strength powerup, given that half the comments seem to be from people confused by it...)
Here's how I did level 10 (I don't know if it's the intended solution): if you push the block right next to where you start with a 2x speed boost, you'll push it far enough to land on that switch above the lava. Then the rest of the level is pretty straightforward.
I love programming games, so imagine my delight on checking this out after playing Fear Less and finding this! One small request: is it possible to move instructions? I hate getting a Set the way I want it and then realizing I've put it in the wrong place.
One small note: in Boomslang, if you constantly press the opposite direction to your current direction, it's very easy to see the obstacles. Not sure if this is intended, but it seems a little cheap.
So now Papa has resorted to kidnapping people's pets in order to get them to toil in his food sweatshops. Are there no depths to which this fiend will not sink?
Here's how I think the design process went: "People play RPGs to watch numbers go up, right? So I'll put in a whole bunch of numbers and make them go up all the time! It'll be the best RPG ever!"
If you're experiencing mouse lag in this game, it seems to be the fault of the most recent Flash Player version 10.3.183.5. You can try downloading an older version from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html which should fix the problem (or just wait for an updated version from Adobe).
One tip for people struggling with Boss Rush: I found that turning on Toggle shooting mode (from the Options menu) helps a lot -- it makes sure that you can be shooting 100% of the time, which is a big help.
The character models aren't even rotated...my warrior magically switches from being right-handed when he's facing left to left-handed when he's facing right.
:D
