I did not expect myself to spend an hour into this game. The achievements/unlockables keeps pulling me back in.
This game has the perfect balance in depth of gameplay, but also in that you can just spend a few minutes for each level and still enjoy it. 5/5 for sure.
Wow, I had ~80 resources for each, and I could not get an effective card for like 8 turns, and my opponent had 98 for the castle defense. So frustrating, then I finally got the +22 defense and won T_T.
Pretty good game, but it does kinda get repetitive towards the end.
I was expecting a giant blob monster taking up all the floors for the last level, but I guess not =[.
For those who can't seem to win:
-Start on Okinawa, use the level up soldier slot.
-Wait till you have 6 defenders and 19 Knights
-The strategy is to lure enemy's front lines to the defenders and bring the knights all way to the back of enemy lines so the archers/ninjas will not slowly deplete your team's health (they have really low hp too).
-Keep repeating this until you have put enough level ups to get the samurai.
-After that, put a Giant Magnetic Field, on every land you conquer (this will be of a tremendous help once you get to the end)
-As you conquer more land, you will get more money, which in turn helps you afford the more expensive units.
-Then it's pretty straight forward after that.
Good thing I never gave up on level 2 xD, this game just takes some time getting used to, but after that, the challenges get more and more difficult, but it's still possible to finish it with the experience of previous level.
Great learning curve for a game like this, 5/5 ;D.
