It seems like a key part of winning is early economy. So it might be optimal to simply restart if attacked on the first turn (there is no penalty for this). Even if you don't restart you won't want to put 2 militiamen on defense, and the 1 v 1 militia fight is a 50% chance of game over. So it might be worth considering whether the AI need be so aggressive on turn 1.
Also, I feel like the Greeks are really powerful since you get a ~2k and ~4k unit for free once you construct the buildings, and a defense made up primarily of hydras and minotaurs is quite powerful (and is less dependent on spacing than massed units.)
So it's certainly possible to win the final battle on turn 2, but I think I need to replay it so I can kill all the enemies and loot the item. Still, fantastic overall.
That 7th boss is disproportionately difficult on all difficulties. I must have died a hundred times doing it on Insane, and then once I managed it I proceeded to beat the next seven bosses on the first try.
It does seem odd that it seems optimal to forgo outpost upgrades and factories since it's significantly easier to defend on foot than from the tower, and you get tons of gold that way, and weapon XP to boot.
During the single level playthrough before it starts lagging, and the countdown starts before it becomes too laggy that you have to refresh, it's actually pretty fun.
I think the gold awards from the red area on the treasure drop should be increased somewhat in hard mode. Just so they keep pace with how the gold drops from the level increase in the transition between normal and hard. A 225g drop is not much of an award when you're getting 6800 from the level.
During conversations there needs to be an option to just display all the text on the screen immediately or with a button press, rather than waiting for it to scroll. I don't necessarily want to skip the conversations, but I'd like to be able to read them at my own pace.
Yeah, reached the last boss with only 7 of 33 missions completed (it would be nice to be able to complete missions you haven't gotten yet if you complete the requirement (I killed the first boss 3 times before getting the "kill the first boss" mission).
I hate that the button I hit when playing the mouse to change between marking and putting in an x is 'c'(which is right next to 'x') and not 'x'. Maybe add a way to turn off non-touch controls?
Man, of the last 15 large puzzles, 11 are abstract geometric patterns. It gets a bit repetitive, so maybe change the order to mix some of those in with the earlier ones?
The freeze ability is kind of broken, in the sense that it breaks the game as you will get frozen enemies falling off the screen that will never catch up to your truck.
