It is Mancala, played against a perfect computer. That's all you can say about it, and for what it is, it's perfect. However, they solved Mancala not too long ago.
Having trouble winning? Letter your cups A, B, C, D, E, and F. Then start with cup C and cup F. Guarantee your games get better.
Oh, yes, for everyone saying the game is hard: yes, it is. Elona is a roguelike, and that's the sort of games Noa makes - in short, you're not gonna win the first time. You have to set small goals for yourself - "I'm gonna get this medal. I'm gonna do this thing. I'm gonna get this far." And then the rewards you get for doing that stack up for each new game. Set a short-term goal, reach it, then start over. Set a new goal, reach it, start over. Eventually you'll be working towards 50-75 days like I am, and progressing towards the end.
OK. I got my level 35 Noble to Day 38 - this is like my 10th runthrough. I got the Prayer and Robber and Veteran badges this time, and maybe something else. It's almost 6 PM and I've been playing this since 6 AM. This game is frigging addictive once you look past the surface - it is the most well put together version of the classic idea I've seen yet, and holy crap is it hard and awesome. This game, it is win and kittens. 5/5 and I'm going to do what I can to see Noa win the award for this month because damn does he deserve it.
