I thought I'd give this game a go, as it seemed to have potential. To the point that I decided to put 49 Kongregate credit towards the special crystal package that would allow me to get the special 1 epic chest and 2 rare chests. But when it opened the final of the 3 chests, it disconnected and stated I would need to re-connect. After doing so, I found myself with no rare or epic card showed prior to the disconnect, the crystals lost, the deal lost, and only a VIP 1 to show for the transaction. Be warned
Has anyone else noticed that once you get to the higher levels, your computer starts to run rather hot? As if there was a lot of computations taking place on the fly.
In the new mapping system, its not clear to me why increasing the difficulty should also increase the number of map fragments needed? Is there any reason why one would want to increase the difficulty factor rating? (if anything I should think it should reduce the number of fragment needed).
Very well done. And as others commented, the ability to upgrade units would really give you the ability to extend this game to a much larger scope, and perhaps get people to try out the "weaker" units, to see if they improve over time. Ever thought of extending to player vs player?
The response to this episode was positive enough that I will continue working on the game and yes, it is a PvP version! It will also have ways to upgrade the units
Out of sheer stubborness... and quite a few iterations (those damn mages are just so hard to depend on), I'm here to say I finally beat expert on hard with no stinkin' kredits!!
Aim for the quaker gun as soon as possible (lvl 7-8?) for the alamo badge, the hard part is surviving until you get the quaker gun, after that, its all about laser towers and soldiers, then repairman and walls.
I thought this game was absolutely excellent for its target audience. Namely preschoolers. My 5 years old loved it, and it promotes patience, deduction, focus... again excellent work. Would love to see more.
