Umm. Love the game, but can't complete it. Once I got an in-game achievement, it started lagging every time I jumped. Refreshing didn't help, and it makes it unplayable. Giving it a 5/5 anyway, just wish I could play :c
I really enjoyed the game, but it not saving your progress is a huge no-no in games like this. It takes so long to unlock everything, I was more than a little disappointed when I came back today to finish it up and had to start over :/ If I've missed something, I do apologize.
It's really nice, but as others have said, the movement speed is painfully slow. This presents a problem, as pretty much all the hazards involve speed, so it ends up requiring far more precision than some of the faster platformers. That, combined with the slow death sequence and the fact that, when you die, you start over from the area entrance you used last, made it incredibly tedious at times. I also had a lot of trouble telling my "safe zones" around the bats. Sometimes, the bats would actually touch the devil and I wouldn't die, other times I'd die and be so far away from one that I had no idea what had killed me. That made certain mine sections unnecessarily cruel.
It's not bad. The jumping could use some work, though (I died more times to overjumping the platforms than to the enemies). "Run" seems largely useless; I never needed to use it, and it's a good thing, because I don't think I would've been able to manage oversensitive jumping at a faster speed. All in all, if you cleaned it up a bit, it could be rather fun, and I'd definitely play a longer version if you make it. Good luck!
I'd really like it if it didn't pause when I switched tabs/windows. There are a lot of points when being able to AFK it would have made my playing experience more enjoyable, rather than having to sit here, watching my money slowly increase.
Really nice game, but I minor request: any chance you could give us a choice of making a female character? I know it's a bit trivial, but it always bothers me in games with character customization that you can be anything in the world but a woman. Thus, I have a muttonchop'd warrior named Priscilla.
I think it's pretty decent. I'm usually not a big fan of games like this, but it's not bad. I do have a complaint, though: why do we have full-body character models, if the only thing about them we can change is their hair? I got excited thinking that this game might actually have some customization to it, and there's nada. If all our characters are going to look essentially the same, at least give them some steampunky clothes.
I think a visual difference in the races' kingdoms (not just on the world map) and/or troops would make it a lot nicer, but otherwise, not a bad game. I do seem to be having trouble getting resource amounts/building levels to update without refreshing the page, though, which is a bit annoying.
You'll probably not get to read this, but meh.
Awesome, awesome game. It takes the best part of old school text RPGs -- rich descriptions that give the player an idea of the world they're playing in, while leaving much to their own imagination -- while getting rid of the more annoying bits and adding just enough (really good, by the way) art to keep things interesting. I would absolutely love to see this as a browser game. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is that there should be some way to see what the different stats affect without trial-and-error, especially given that there isn't a way to redo stats. Excellent game, dude.
Thank you very much :3
