The key to this game seems to be cooperation, using connections to reinforce your cells, and simply watching your enemies die from the counters of your pretadors.
For level 14, extend a tentacle, wait for the cell to almost take, cut it, and launch counter tentacles to capture an additional cell. once you have that, set up a triangle of cells feeding each other, and you should have no problems.
You can always close your browser if you are in a losing battle. Mage enemies are way too hardcore though, especially when you have an entire dungeon slinging lightning bolts.
"Okay, I think I've got you. I have full ether now, next turn I'll take your last 20 hitpoints. What do you have to say, AI?"
God's Wrath. God's Wrath. God's Wrath.
"...Okay, that could have gone better."
Simply climb the unclimbable cliff. Alternately, you could sell your soul by consuming others.
The god's way is not the only way, nor is it the easiest way, nor is it the most rewarding way.
I would like the ability to chose which cards you bring to a fight. While the randomness was entertaining at first, it quickly became frusterating not having any control over what I brought to the fight— and restart scumming is just as annoying. Perhaps allowing the player to choose several cards, and leaving the rest up to chance might preserve the random aspect while preventing the player from getting trampled because they can't summon a fire priest or whatever.

Not terribly suited for survival, but at max utility can 9 second the final boss.
