How the heck do I unlock the stages? I've fully upgraded everything I have, and I can't seem to unlock more things to upgrade.
@Wolf33779, you finish story mode to unlock sandbox mode.

OK, I finally won the game, but I have to admit it was fairly cheaty. I found a ring of lifesaving, and every time I used it, I immediately closed the window. It started me back at the last floor I'd left, so I was able to do the last few levels repeatedly until I got them right. Next: to do it again without cheating.
I came back the next day and found out there is nothing saving what level I was on. On the other hand, I don't mind starting over too much. It's a nice game.
Despite the helpful title and picture that appears afterwards, the puzzles all look like some blobby thing that would give Cthulhu an unpleasant night's dream.
"So I should accelerate anytime my tires are firmly on the ground?" - "Nah, accelerate in the air, too." "But how..." "Less stuff in your way means it's easier to accelerate!"
Is there a way to keep dead things dead in the crypt? Also, forget winning in fewer minutes, what the menu screen needs is "Highest level reached with this class".
As difficult as this game is, instead of the list showing you've solved the game in 60 or 45 minutes, it should show what's the highest level you've gotten to with this class.
