Okay, I'm far enough in to see the crafting in a more complete light. If anything, it's even worse than in the previous game, despite being able to buy materials properly. Without the large bonuses from dungeons like before, the skill scales WAY too slowly to be useful, and what little is there to craft at all is socketed stuff that would be mediocre-to-awful in the best of circumstances, but is actually worse because you have almost no chance of successfully gemming them anyway.

It's not QUITE as needlessly grindy as the previous one. Weirdly, it starts out more painfully slow than the midgame. The first couple levels don't drop enough gold to ditch your peashooter right away, and you're not likely to kill much and get any more gold if you try anything harder without repeating dull, easy levels several times to do so. Overall, the game still has Guess My Fetish Syndrome -- the dps you give us is deceptive and doesn't seem to account for explosions, shrapnel, damage over time, etc., so just like the previous game it comes down to guessing which 2-3 weapons out of the 20 you had an arbitrary hardon for and are actually worth saving up for.

So, uh...if we're going to use a hammer to jack some furniture, could it at least take the whole thing? I wanted a bed, not a headboard, pillow, and half a mattress. -_-

Crafting isn't QUITE as hideously undertuned as in the previous games, but it's still so badly undertuned as to be completely useless for everything except stocking up on mana potions for long dungeon crawls. For the rate you get materials at, your crafting skills have to scale way, WAY faster for that to be even remotely viable.

This is a nice thing to screw around with another person and psych each other out, but against a purely reactive CPU it's kind of unfair seeing how the first person to break the standoff immediately gets suplexed.

The main problems I have are 1) way too grindy, and 2) issuing marching orders doesn't really do anything if they're already in combat. Your soldiers will gleefully run off after stragglers (or even drag a fracas off in a random direction by themselves), go piss in a corner, and get shot by archers -- and there's jack all you can do about it.

The only real complaint I can lodge is that status effect moves are way too unreliable. Like, I can see making stun resistable by bosses and such, but damage over time moves should at least be 100%, seeing how they do such anemic damage that they're completely inferior to a normal attack if resisted and barely worth using at all if they're not.

Once more, I'm amazed at how much high-quality visual you can crank out of so little computational time. If half of the developers on this site put half as much care into optimizing graphics as you did, we wouldn't need a low quality button, much less turn it on and usually get barely-playable fps anyway.

There's a memory leak in there. It builds up lag over time.

First impression: stop making these MMO's bigger than the screen they're played on. Second impression: dammit, this is just a skin of Dawn of the Dragons, and that was the single most half-assed MMO I've ever seen.

I can see improvements; potions boosted, heals from the map, the shop sells more than one useful item (I'm not far enough in to know if the crafting is still as underbalanced as before), etc. Autoattack is nice, but the fact that it needed to exist means combat balance is still tedious. The main problem persists -- it runs a bit faster than the previous games, but it's still darn slow. On low quality it's running far slower than a port of the PS2 Tomb Raider on high settings. I know Flash is unusually slow, especially browser-side, but I've seen too many games on this very site do more faster, and tactical battles run so slowly as to be unplayable. At this point you should probably consider cutting down on gratuitous particle effects, replacing the paper dolls with sprites, then poke into optimizing and making sure inactive screens/objects and such aren't eating processor time. Case in point, there's basically no reason whatsoever that the dungeon map should ever be lagging.

Most of what jumps out at me is that you actually took several steps backward from the first game. The graphics appear to be optimized even worse than before, despite doing almost nothing new. The crafting went from useless, to useless AND unusable since you can no longer buy materials. The shop basically exists only to buy your first two pieces of gear and a backpack later on. The tactical battles are even more tedious than the defense ones from before, because in addition to the long delays between laggy animations, stuff now stuff takes forever to kill as well because you're not just oneshotting it with your hero. Most of the bonus stats are still pretty much useless.

Lack of Low Quality option doesn't help. Anything with this many individually animated ragdolls should probably have that.

Bunch of problems throughout. VERY poor and laggy optimization on the whole, even in minimal-display dungeon maps that aren't really doing anything, and gratuitous abuse of particle effects, gradients, and transparency doesn't help one bit. A good deal of the status buffs don't appear to actually do anything -- for instance, +hit potions don't actually increase your hit at all. Crafting is a liability with no payoff by the time the game ends. Enemy casters are hideously overpowered because you fight them so rarely that you can't build up any defense against them. Pretty much all of the spells except Life Steal are wholly useless.

It's pretty much a guessing game to hit robots on curves, since the perspective is messed up enough that they drift outward anywhere from 0.5-1.5 lanes. Coupled with the drunken wobbling camera it's a mess.
