Ya gotta love the deamons that pop up right behind you and freeze everything until they can blast you. Pity they never hiccough just as they breathe fire. heh.
Lots of fun. No mere mortal can resist a jigsaw puzzle (to paraphrase "Thriller" a bit). I have to agree, a different puzzle each level would be better for repeat or long-term play.
Another excellent variation of Taipan (I think the same as, but older than, Elite). I've always enjoyed this type, and the 3-D upgrade and simpler market/upgrade system keeps it to its roots. Yes, Caravaneer is a more fleshed-out game of this type, but there's still a lot to be said for nostalgia. 5/5. Thanks.
heh -- you're spot on Sallow. I've worked for some miserable bosses, but none like this guy! Even if you try to keep his garden weeded (since he's too cheap to buy a hoe), he still won't cut any slack. I've noticed that his memory isn't too good either, but gets even madder if you point it out to him.
Not a game to play for hours at a sit, but still a good diversion for a few.
Thanks Yespunk -- keep 'em coming.
Fun to remember what the games were like in the past. My, how things have changed. I'll probably never beat this game -- I never could before, and my reflexes aren't near what they were 30 years ago, but it isn't going to stop me from trying!
I finally figured out why the knights are there -0- to guard all the villagers on the screen and get in the way a lot. such dedication. I will especially enjoy crushing them like the bugs they are, once I can figure out where I left my can opener. heh.
5/5 Fun until it shuts off any input from the player. Hmm...Probably a square electron stuck in a round wire somewhere as it's not something I'd noticed in other comments. That is, a short between the keyboard and chair at my end.... Seriously, compellingly fun game. Glad to see that it's been given its turn in the limelight!
After all this time, I still can't seem to quite catch onto what I should do, or how to survive the higher levels. But, the music keeps me trying again and again.
