The game is fun at first, but it quickly gets boring having to do that initial 1000m over and over again. Perhaps add a mode with checkpoints where the goal is to see how many lives it takes you to finish some distance (like 5000m or something).
I like the general concept of these games, but I have to say that the skater portion of the game is distinctly less fun. It' isn't fun to have my character respond sluggishly to commands, and when this is coupled with the fact that I'll generally have no idea where exactly I'm going to land, it leads to gameplay where you can only finish a level through memorization of a sequence, which isn't really fun.
@vizuna But with the energy system setup, I can only really play for 5 minutes at a time, regardless of how much I might want to actually play. Then I have to go do something else for about 2 hours while my energy refills instead of being able to play the game the whole time.
Whether or not you do well seems to be driven at least as much by luck as by any possible skill. Sometimes I would lose in 5 years and sometimes I would make it almost all the way but it was all based on what randomly happened.
I'd like to add something onto the comments about it being nerdook's worst game.
It's not that the game is bad really, it's just that nerdook has set the bar pretty high with his previous games.
The game tries to claim that it's deep, but when you really get right down to it, it's really just another avoidance type game and it really isn't all that interesting.
The gameplay itself is way too dependent on luck. Basically the only way to get a good score is to have the boxes just happen to come together. So in order to get the hard badge you have to play over and over again, not necessarily because it's hard, but because you have to have the right initial conditions to get it.
It's a decent game, but it's still buggy. Several times I've had the game freeze on me when I was trying endless mode, once on wave 28 and once on wave 34. I tried hitting the path reset button but it didn't do anything. The whole thing is rather frustrating to be trying to set a new high score and just have the game freeze.
