I like this gam, but it gets SPO annoying that training is unclear and bugged. Wasting over 10 training points and half your month on advanced training that may or may not give you 1 point in something, when it used to give you more on regular training makes for a very frustrating game. Be clear on exactly what whhich training gives and why it might not. Impossible to plan strategies this way.
One thing I don't like, is that near endgame the game gets easier and easier (playing on adept) Fireball/ lightning ball are a bit much at times, as can be dragon's breath. I hardly ever had to use tactical freezes anymore at one point - or any tactical spells for that matter. And once you get extension, it's basically good game. Even with one point in it everything is a cakewalk - once you put points there and can cast 3/4 spells every turn, nothing can even come close to you.
But apart from this and some other gripes (lack of variations in enemies in level, lack of interaction with items in-level. Could certainly use more in-game secrets and indeed, in-level checkpoints) this is a great game! I love the spellcasting, it makes so much sense - Propelling spells with an extra dot behind the formation, for example. Can not wait for a seuquel or extended version!
Have finished this game about 100 times at least and still come back for more. Really needs a sequel :) What I don't understand is that I remember hard being impossible, but now it's a breeze every time. And I never changed tactics. Can't figure out what changed, really :p
SEQUELLLLLLL please :) I keep coming back to complete this on hard even after getting the badge ages ago. It's so incredibly addictive. Also, I was actually interested in the storyline.
I found that at difficult stages with many heavies and champion like enemies I could easily win by spamming skirmishers. Then I got the Liegeblades, which really killed any challenge :p
For those having trouble with this game; a very valid strategy is to ignore infantry upgrades and put every point into fire support upgrades (Make sure to get ressuply and barrage of fire asap). Take a defensive stance, just use lewis gunners and/or regular infantry to defend your first trench, when the trench is full, don't get any additional reinforcements yet, they will just die and decrease your morale) Keep bombarding the enemy with everything you have and watch their morale break. When in control, try to take an additional trench with assaults and a tank or 2, then secure it with lewis gunners. Works like a charm :)
@thedarkne Every game has mechanics where spamming one or the other thing makes everything easy. I don't think I ever saw a truly balanced game in my 15+ years of gaming :~
I got demotivated with this game for it's difficulty, then practiced and tried some strategies and behold, getting 3 stars on every map. Annoyance though, you get 10% bonus honor for registering on kongregate, but NOT for already being a member of it? Seems unfair, to say the least -_o
My only BIG peeve with this game is this: Changing directions WHILST gliding under the enemies you need to glide under to kill should NOT make you crash. It takes all the fluidity out of your run and I think a well executed and timed glide whilst changing direction should be rewarded rather than punished. Apart from that, very addictive :)
Please reset the countdown on skills like slice and dice on death. No use having like 30 rounds penalty on death if you need to wait 3 minutes for your 'passive' to cool down, especially in that delicate early stages of the game. Great game though; but I'd like to see a more fleshed out version of the arena with more enemies to grind, more and more interesting bosses etc. The idea is golden but it feels like a demo. Also, the campaign is a bit on the short side :(
@ Wutaki. No, at 3 charges it is instant. I think you are doublecasting it, and the second time with only 1 charge instead of 2 ;) It's a bit counterintuïtive at times
Yes, when a bug is so severe that it makes the game unplayable, I rate down the game untill it is fixed. No need to rate comments adressing such bugs DOWN, either ignore them or rate them up so developer can see >< Of course, I already sent a mail but still, really? :p

Indeed, everything works fine untill I activate the food items, which leads me to below some aura and effect animations stacking provide the bug. Without the food items, I get my ass handed to me though, those bonusses are very needed when playing overrun maps. Rating 1/5 untill fixed :(
Yeah, because lowering your rating is a great way to inspire us to listen to you. How about participate in the process of helping us make the game better without trying to find a way to punish our efforts?
Now the poison effect of iron thorns does the same as frost nova and lags out the game like no tomorrow. When I don't use frost nova or iron thorns everything works perfectly, when I do it doesn't show most animations and enemies take like 3 seconds to realize they are dead, which makes the game unplayable. My computer, connection and settings are pristine (also as good as no loading times) so I'm pretty sure the problem lies in the coding somewhere. Please fix! Two unusable skillsets in one discipline is just too much. I think it has something to do with stacking animations? (lots on items, and food items, and skills at the same time) Shame...
