so ive learned that in the long run retiring is actually a bad thing to do. it destroys your ability to level skill points, and the items dont level up fast enough. even though a level 8000 vet item is going to be better than a 999999 legendary item. i can reach much higher than that. and i can enchant them to be even more powerful. so the vet items become useless and all retiring does is help my in the middle of the game.
I only ever pressed the stop button when i was going to lose so i just assumed it was a forfeit button, i had no idea it was used to skip the battle animation...
