Ooooh, I just realised all the characters are named after characters from Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. And there's some Lufia influences in there, as well. Outstanding. Make some more games, please!
The main thing is that there wasn't anything new and most of the quests had a similar feel. There was always a goodguy/badguy camp, merchants/mercs camp, fighter/mage/ranger camp next to each other and the quest was to kill the ones that you're not allied with. If there's a number 3, I really hope the feel of the 'sameness' is removed.
Okay guys seriously... Why is this game not rated higher? Nice hand-drawn graphics, nice ambient music, cool sound effects like the dooo-looo-looo before each battle, and a storyline reminiscent of the earthbound series... Yes, it has some problems like a twitchy combat system, but we're people who play RPG's! Compared to the usual bad game design, dialogue and level grinding we deal with, this is smalltime! Rate it 5/5, we want to encourage more games like this!
I liked the hang out around town cutscenes, unlocking collectables and making money. The whole playing the same song over and over bit got boring fast though.
Great game like the first, although there's one area I think needs improvement: The summons in this one are sort of boring. You have the beholder that shoots a laser, the cat that swings a sword and a laser satellite that shoots from space into the battle... When you compare that to the first game, with Lord Canti storming into battle, or the epic summon Catastrophe, they were a tad underwhelming :P Otherwise, good fun! Any word on another project?
It's fun... a lot like the first.
My main problem is the screen resolution - you don't see much of the screen at once, so it's hard to find the blocks to bounce off. I know that the radar negates most of the need for this, but the amount of sky you see on the screen is VERY small.
I never do any good switching between a primary/secondary - I always buff up a primary gun (usually the machine gun) and use all automatically firing weapons for the rest. Good game.
I think the random 4th wall breaking comments are the best part. This game fills a gap that kong is missing - traditional rpg. Looking forward to your next chapters!
Epic, amazing game. And to think that there's no text... And the second half when you have to escape the underworld yet not look back... man, there honestly aren't many games on kong better than this! Hey, developer! Don't just sit here reading comments! Get back to making games!
...I liked it. Nice shiny graphics and old school attacks. A lot of the comments where they complain about no leveling and starting with 9999 health are really missing the point. Also, the summons are awesome and I like your tribute to catastrophe there :D
...That said, I want to see what you make next! So, you've proved you can animate and make a battle system... let's see a story and conventional rpg next time!
Wow, now I know how the Star Destroyers felt trying to shoot down those pesky X-Wings^^ It's a fun game. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the text seems to be cut/broken in the conversations. I feel as if I'm only getting part of the story.
I'm having trouble getting the badge too... despite finishing the game and getting 49/49. Might need to check the code there. Nice game though, I like the characters and atmosphere, but the scripted battles and number of times that you are suddenly saved is a bit annoying. Raises the bar for flash horror games all in all.
I didn't like it much to start with, but as I played I found myself enjoying it more and more. I especially liked doing challenges, as coming first in a race wasn't necessarily important.
The ai could definitely be improved, as all it seems to do is speed cars up if you're doing well or slow them when you're doing bad. Irregardless, 4/5.
I was going to give it 4/5, but then I heard the end song, and I upped it to 5. More games should have stuff like this! Take notice of Super Energy Apocalypse and Burn the Rope, developers!
