Having reached the point where my next research is Gen3 & Thorium Cells, I must admit that the slow pace of the game is starting to get to me. Considering the game has to be actively running for your resources to accrue at a significant rate (bonus ticks are a joke), it would be nice if I could upgrade something more than once a day. I have a sinking feeling it will only become slower as I continue.
@RazrShade: Duplete said nothing about placing batteries into water, his comment said that pumping water INTO batteries would be a bad idea. Which it would be, since it would ruin the battery. I already pointed out that his comment didn't make much sense in the context of the game, so you may just want to stop flailing and accept that your comment was wrongly made.
Please remove the option to upgrade research buildings from maps which don't allow them. I wasted half a quadrillion in upgrades preparing to switch to an all research map, only to realize that research buildings couldn't be built at all!
@RazrShade: There are batteries in this game; they are one of the first few things you research. As Duplete suggests, pumping water into batteries is a terrible idea. I'm not clear on why he would make this comment, since the game encourages water cooling of GENERATORS, but nothing he said was wrong.
The error message for water pumps is incorrect; the real problem is that you can only place a water pump next to water tiles. Read the in-game description and look at the picture.
@AgentGreen: Basically things will be hottest near the heat source, and if you don't have infrastructure capable of transmitting that heat away quickly enough, it won't matter that you technically have enough generators to process it. This is an intentional part of the game. To combat this, you can adjust your reactor design or upgrade the max heat your generators can handle (so that they can hold on long enough for the heat to disperse).
Tip: Remember that upgrading "lifetime" will never do more than cut operating costs, which will always represent some fraction of your income. Because this fraction dwindles to nothing as you upgrade generating power anyway, it's seldom effective to take more than a single lifetime upgrade per tech (aside from windmills) if even that.
I dislike arena style games... but the training mini-games of this particular one are more enjoyable than most. You can really push your reflexes to the limit.
I'm just saying: It's not a great sign that I've literally programmed better RPGs on my old TI-83 calculator over a decade ago back in High School. Mine had two main characters, the first of which could cast four different spells and the second of which could steal healing potions from the enemy. The final boss had four different kinds of attack as well.
Computer clearly starts with more resources or gains them at an unusual rate; By turn three France had 3 Frigates, 2 sloops, 2 Brigantines, and a Fortress outside their local capital. This amounts to a total of 600 gold, which is more than could possibly be earned in only three turns, not to mention any forces they may have had in the spaces I did not attack. I could also mention the fact that 3 Frigates should not be possible by turn three, as you start with 1, get only 1 more from the military tech, and cannot build more until researching the requisite tech.
I've experienced two kinds of bugs when opening card packs. First is that opening all packs does not actually open all packs, but does prevent you from opening any that are left over in your inventory. Second is that if, after accumulating a number of packs, you select a pack in the middle of your collection to open, it will not disappear afterward. You can then continue opening it forever, and getting more cards.
A basic base-capturing game, with nothing special added. So many of this type of game exist, at least one unique feature to set this one apart would have been nice... 3/5.
I find it amusing that some of the first freemium games of this type copied their battle system from HOMM, and now HOMM is turning right back around and copying the standard freemium money making scheme from all of them.
This would make a decent idle game, if you didn't have to click to reset the battle, and if the memory leak didn't cause it to slowly die. Attempting to pass it off as an actual game is just sad.
Nice, glad I could make a difference here.
