I was at first slightly taken aback by the new vertical map layout instead of the old view from the top, but this game is equally as fun as its predecessors! I hope the developer does not stop making the other ones either as both styles are equally fun.
It would be nice to be able to craft a complex item (especially upgrades) with a single click instead of having to first build each sub-component separately. Towards the end, the level 5 upgrades take numerous different assemblies and sub-assemblies that take a long time and a lot of clicks to complete. I did not bother getting all level 5 upgrades despite having dozens or even hundreds of each basic resource because some of those complex assemblies are frustratingly tedious, like the "Stabilizer Array".
This begs for a sequel with nice improvements, water worlds, and a continued story.
Color me impressed! Plays smoothly and looks very professionally done. I would have never guessed it was written by one self-taught guy. Very good game! 5/5 :)
@jstace: I just figured that out myself. You have to send a group of people against an incoming horde to progress in this quest. So when you get a large horde invading, send a group of soldiers to attack a square in front of the horde. The doctor claims to need you "to walk in front of a moving horde" - that's literal.
If you can just keep with "avoid green" (3 green balls, you control one yellow), you can easily rack up the Hard badge for 5x multiplier. I find this one easiest since the 3 green balls were bouncing in tandem in my case, so it was a simple pattern to avoid them.
