characters should be able to access goods in battle by going to the cars/wagons and using AP to get things out of it and into their inventory.

I hate it when i go to a town then suddenly I'm out of forage and they sell animals but no forage.. WTF. Weak.
If you really liked this game, try Fallout or Fallout 2 (PC/MAC). Caravaneer is based perfectly on the combat system of the Fallout games.
