because creating a game take lots of time and effort. months of work and most of your social life are sacrificed in the process and after all the work you need to rip the whole thing to shreds about 18 times and put back together (this is called debugging).
then once you finsh the game it is your intellectual property. For someone to take that creation and then profit off of it is the same as someone stealing a the mona lisa and claiming its ok because the painter could make a better one.

knock of the lord of the rings story line. starting with the evil soccerer. being kill long time ago by good so does Sauron geesh
that storyline is use in almost every adventure movie/game/book out there (Voldemort, Sauron, Ganondorf... the list goes on and on.... and on)...and on. :P
all these people who say the creater is sick twisted etc are right... BUT you have to ask yourself 'Why did I even try a game titled the The Torture Game?' there must be some sort of sickness or twistedness (are those even words?) in you, something you are suppressing. that not healthly. :P
