I agree with Gwynaria. I've already stated that I really like this game, and that it's both a great idea & has great gameplay. But I think the reason I like this game even more now is because the developer actually listens to the fan suggestions and continues to improve the game. Wish more developers would actually listen to, and respond to comments, Kongregate would have a lot more quality games if there were more developers like GamesofCthulhu.
Yup, did more testing. The webbing algorithm sucks. Web fell apart twice barely being tapped by insects even though it was only in a single corner, and intertwined as small as it could be. Until the web issue is fixed this game stays at a 1/5. Would be 0/5 if the rating system allowed for that low a rating. Very poorly designed.
The gameplay is too imbalanced, whatever formula calculates what part(s) of the web collapse when a strand is broken does not work. Developer needs to redo their algorithm.
I agree with Ashlan, there is a bug in the game where the computer is able to use cards that cost sanity points, even though it is "insane". Needs to be fixed as that throws off the game balance severely and makes cards that attack computers sanity useless.
Until the end boss actually has balanced game play this game still gets a low rating. The modifications that have been done in the patch are welcome changes, and add greatly to the enjoyment of the game, so that's an excellent start. The game balance is the only thing that needs work. The entire game is very well done up until the ending, the imbalance in last boss just completely ruins an otherwise very enjoyable gaming experience.
I agree with the people complaining that it is too annoying to have a HUGE web and have it destroyed in an instant. That annoyance has caused me to substantially decrease my initial rating of the game. The game is still great in concept, but needs to be redesigned in the area of game balance.
The boss on the train SERIOUSLY needs to be toned down. There's no way he should be able to use his special attack that much. Very poor design, and without an enemy health bar to measure progress a player quickly loses interest in attempting something that poorly designed because there's absolutely no player incentive.
Not a bad game, little repetitive. Wish you could send more troops to help out, just sitting there winging the bow around gets old. Needs more variety of things for the player to do.
I completely agree with Mordred. I can deal with the demons, not that big a deal. However the crossbow and even scrolling controls get 'locked' and you wind up scrolling to the extreme of the direction quite often. The ending though is completely ridiculous. The last boss 'The End' is the most idiotic thing I have seen in a long time...if you haven't gotten to the end of this game, don't bother wasting your time with it. Overall, the game is a solid 4/5...but the "Final Battle', stupid as I have ever seen, that particular fight gets a solid 1/5, would rank it less if you could. Also agree, that the upgrade levels for special attack should do more, and the "castle" upgrades are essentially useless, even fully maxed out.
