Technically, it's 1 bullet every 2 seconds. :P I dunno though, sniper seems to work really well as a recruit as it has the highest kill rate of any of my party (the other two are using shotguns with maxed doc holliday). Might not be the best to use a sniper rifle as your primary character, but it seems pretty effective on a recruit.
The rewards do go up...tax just goes up a bit faster. :P It helps a -lot- to get chickens early on to help your income stream. Alternatively, start as a rogue, their class skills give them great cash potential early on when you don't have achievements yet.
Rifles are fine, really. Just switch to a shotgun or something when up close. Unless, of course you are a sniper...in which case their skills already compensate for close/far targetting.
I really enjoyed using rogue as my starting class. The gold bonus you get for any critted hit really adds up tremendously over time which is improved even further with the luck and sense skills. They can handle rifles too, so you can eventually switch over to a bowgun for some really nice damage dealing.
Reforge costs seem fine. (Seems like the cost calculated is just what it'd take to sell your original weapon, then buying the new one from the shop) However, it should be possible to use shop tokens to lower the cost of a reforge.
Day 149 should feature extra hard boss(es?) and end the game with some flair to make the final medal something interesting and give the game good closure.
Nope, rapid bowgun is still giving me pierced shots with the update. The regular bowgun has +1 piercing to start while the rapid one doesn't. That's probably where the mixup is coming from.
I could probably throw together a quick strategy guide if there's interest. I haven't had enough time to play through all the classes fully (ranger comes to mind), but it should at least provide some decent info.
