Congratulations! You just won the First Aid Masochist Badge and 60 points!
Just thought I'd let you know that I spent 5 hours straight on that last ****ing level.
yes, i enjoy the story, yes i enjoy the premise of finding out about the past settlers, no i don't enjoy wandering aimlessly looking for single white pixels that are out of place on a giant white pixel grid.
I went back and forth 1 screen at a time until i went from bottom to top of the map. I am still missing 2 relics. it took me about a a half hour of the most tedious thing I remember doing.
Its a nice atmospheric game that made me feel relaxed and genuinely creeped out at the same time. my only complaint is that it was too short. it can be a full length game and still have a perplexing atmosphere. learn from "william and sly". I really would like to see what else from this world is in your imagination.
if you shoot straight down near the top of your jump, you can boost higher sometimes, it only seems to work if there is a lot of black around you. but i can get it 3 times in 1 jump sometimes.
This truly is a great game, I really enjoy puzzle games, and rarely do any come out as good as this. You are a really good flash game developer and I hope you don't stop making games anytime soon!
3 Part review, Part: 3
In my first play through, I admit I disobeyed it on purpose because of it's apparent distrust of me, which seems to have set an unintentional moral that "first impressions count" for me. A lot of people have been trying to find out what exactly you mean and what the metaphors are, Personally, i don't think it matters, the experience is intended to be different, and I guess how people see the metaphor was part of that, perhaps unintentionally. Personally, I kept referring the force as "she" in my mind, and later "GLaDOS" for the idea that you are trapped in a deadly test. The guy was a fat buffoon who I could not take seriously because of his crouch animation.
But like i said before, this game is a little overrated, not quite to the standards of a lot of the minimalist graphic style, "arty" flash games have set, But not a bad first try. Like I said, You've got potential, and you could really make something great if you put more time and thought into it.

The gameplay itself is mediocre, but I know that wasn't the point. In a lot of these games, the choices you make affect the choices you can make later in the game. The problem is this doesn't do that, that is bad. It just has a simple number, and if you follow more than the number you get ending 1, less, ending 2. Now, I've seen a few comments referencing "The Company Of Myself", but the only thing it really has in common is text on the screen by an outside narrator.
The idea of the outside narrator seems to inspire a sense of wonder, like in "The Company Of Myself" or "I Can Hold My Breath Forever". In those games, the true character and backstory are revealed at the end. However in this game, it is never told. At the very beginning, the mysterious force disagrees with you, denies you what you want, and generally makes a bad first impression. Immediately after that, demands you do tasks in whichever way it chooses. This is very effective and i liked it.

You've got potential, however, this is not "art". There are plenty of flash games that do art way better. I know you probably already hate me, but listen, There are only 2 endings, as far as the game goes, its bad, as far as the story goes, it's worse, and it's only saving grace is that there's a mysterious omnipresence attached to you, giving you orders, and changing the environment based on wether or not you follow them. But hey, it's one heck of a saving grace.
Alright, now to defend my previous points. the 2 ending scheme is kind of effective, but would be much better if there were more. Now i realize that this may be aggravating to some people trying to get all the endings, however the gameplay is short enough that it might work. look at "the Majesty Of Colors" or "How To Raise A Dragon". Those both had multiple endings, and short gameplay, and worked well.
catch 22 essentially is you can only do something if you dont want to. example: the only way to be allowed home from the army is to be deemed insane and the only way to be deemed insane is to say you want to be in the army
