If you consider a sequel I would highly recommend making it more exploration-based. This unique type of gameplay is practically begging for a large map to explore rather than these linear levels.
Alot of people say it's a bit boring, but I see it differently. The calm colors, background detail, wind, and peaceful piano music make this an altogether enjoyable experience. I don't need to be upgraded or go at a fast pace because the game is addicting in its simplicity.
Is there a replay button at the end and I just can't see it? Also, was I supposed to be able to beat the time limit at the end? No level select for those who won? BUG: At level 17G in the latest update the enemy could still seem to shoot through the ground if I hid at the very far right of the level plane. Anyway, now that I'm done with that, awesome game, love the music, the whole feel of everything, the uniqueness and physics. I felt like things got a bit too frustrating towards the end, 17 and 20 for me, but overall, awesome job. 5/5 easily.
Thanks for the info Wyler. I feel rather ashamed for not remembering considering that I played it several years ago. Big thumbs up to the creator for using Chopin. :D
So how come all the many meteors haven't totally destroyed the station where you launch from or destroyed alot of the rest of earth? Also why do you have enough fuel to get back to earth when you are out of fuel?
Perhaps if the game was a bit more accessible and easier for those who hadn't played through the other chapters it might get a higher rating? That and somehow making the directional keys work even in IE, although I don't even know if that's possible. Either way, this game deserves the highest praise possible, so don't let idiots get you down. You have plenty of supporters here who are loving the years of hard work you put into this. So congrats and give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve it.
I just saved and can still see the map - it looks like the update fixed it for me so far. FYI if you are still experiencing the bug, refresh the page and try again so that you have the latest version.
When I was in Kalengo's cell, I stopped and continued later, but now it says that I got trapped in his cell with no chance of escape and I have to restart. However, the walkthrough made it fairly clear that it was possible to escape, so what's up with that? If I stop at certain places, I can't restart later? What's the point of saving if you can't continue it?
Everything else about the game is very well done though, good job. This should be getting more attention than it is.
Bug: When I was doing a normal (10 waves Cult) quest, it said that I found a protectomon, and to check out my stats scroll to see it. I checked the stats scroll, looked at the protectomon part and nothing was there.
It would be nice to have a little more information on normal quests, such as difficulty level, number of waves, etc. It would also be great to have a secondary recommended element or something. As it stands, the first element is almost never enough, and I just have to hope I get lucky with the other heroes I choose.
Suggestion: When describing the unit, it would be very helpful to say whether it is a melee unit, ranged, or magical unit. As it stands, I don't know whether to have the alchemist's leader to invest points into magic, sword, or ranged combat buff. The alchemist only has one space of attack which makes me think sword, but then he hits flying enemies which makes me think ranged, but the name alchemist makes me think magic. X_X It wouldn't have to be major, just say "basic ranged unit" instead of simply "basic unit" It would also be helpful to see the units skill tree outside of a battle so I could know whether I should purchase that leader or not and to help plan.
Tehcnomancer also seems rather useless - even if he has good stat upgrades its very difficult to give those to him because his horrendously low attack prevents him from getting god experience.
Just read the rest of the protecdepedia - THANK YOU for letting no enemies be immune to status effects. It (probably) adds more strategy to bosses and (will probably) make all those specialized mages seem worth it.
Spelling error under Gaming elements - Concepts - Unit Banners "The skill increases form items can breach the level cap for individual skills" It should be FROM not FORM, unless I'm reading it wrong. Also that section seems to be about items, I don't know what it means by Unit Banners. Dang, I can't wait to see the story and how faction reputation works.
One question after reading through the factions part of the encyclopedia - you say that the tribes of Gorland reside right outside of the cities of Hamlar, communing with nature, flowers, trees, etc. However, then in the section about Hamlar you say that the cities of Hamlar are surrounded by desert. (O_O)
After reading the section of the tribes of Gorland I got the impression the cities of Hamlar are surrounded by forest, only to hear that they are surrounded by desert. Do the tribes live just outside of the desert then? This might he helpful to explain.
Response to new ending - OMG WOW THANK YOU. Just perfect.
Buuuuut. One more thing. Now that the damage bug is fixed the bosses are even EASIER, along with the whole game. So yeah. Thankfully that's not the focus of the game. One last thing. It's really annoying jumping up withing seeing what's up there and getting hit by those flying things. Maybe one last light upgrade that lets you see higher? That or the option to aim upwards.
Bug reports - three times my game has randomly frozen. Also, once the screen when completely black when I died right after killing the final boss, but before he blew up. When I re-spawned the game was still there according to the sound effects and whatnot, but I couldn't see anything. Even going back to the main menu didn't work, I had to refresh.
And one question. I never got any rank on any mission when I was playing. Is it based solely off of time or what? I don't think that the game explains.
Hope this helps, this was a great game.
There's a place far down where you can't shoot them if they're at your wall. Only option is the arrow storm. :/ Also, you can't sell the bow that you have attached. It would be helpful if I could sell it so that I would have the money needed to buy the next bow. Not bad game game all in all.
One last thing now that I've finished......that was it? With such a well done story leading to the ending, I was expecting a little more for an ending than "He blew up the ship and they never tried to go to other dimensions again, lol"
There was so much more potential. Maybe your character actually did get infected fully after he blew up the ship and started coming towards earth. At least you could hear the captain say something right before he dies. A final log entry explaining more about where these things come from? I want to feel satisfied with an ending, not left like "Ok.... I guess it's over."
Just trying to help improve things here, it is a good game. It just needs to improve upon a few things.
Forgot to say - speed dash activates at awkward times when I'm moving, and then sometimes won't when I want it to. Please change it to just holding the shift button or something similar, or at least give the option to change the controls for that.d
Game froze in the last level - when I restarted by extra shield regen wasn't working, although it said it was +80% it just as slow as the beginning.
Either way, awesome game. 3rd boss was way too easy, perhaps adding a new attack or increasing the rate of fire? The spread gun makes things a TON easier also.
Have the damage upgrades perhaps have a noticeable effect? Changing the color of effect of your bullets? Everything about the appearance of the game and story is perfect. Just a slight more balancing you have a master piece.
