Why does my data get wiped when I refresh the page? This is made worse given that the game keeps crashing, requiring a page refresh. It's an enjoyable game when it works, but incredibly frustrating when it starts failing terribly.
While I generally like the game and its predecessor (the costumes are great); they both lose all your progress if you clear data upon exiting your browser where other Kongregate games remember your progress. This was super frustrating. Also, I have to say ditto on the slow time to start fights and animations in general; after losing progress I had to re-watch the incredibly slow opening submarine scene with no ability to skip and using a lottery ticket brought up 3 items so slowly I thought it was finished after the first one because of the huge time gap between the fade out. If you can fix the animation timing and the lost progress issues, this would be a truly great game, but as of now, it is frustrating to play knowing it's taking longer than it should and like an early NES game it forgets you ever played it if you set it down!
The game is quite good; but if it weren't for the rampant bugs, it would be great. To expand on Blue0Dwarf's comment on bugginess, I was halfway through the game, and started swapping out equipment. I tried to start the next level and none of the buttons worked. So, for the 50th time since starting the game, I refreshed my browser again. The game reset itself and I lost all my progress. The lag is frustrating, but manageable; the cats occasionally getting stuck on different elevations and freezing the game as your remaining team is dead is terrible; the challenge of managing equipments is teeth-grinding; but losing my progress after several hours of game play is near-unforgivable. But again, fix the bugs, and this game could have a cinderella-story turnaround!
@dragongirl000, I also was surprised by the swastika, and the weird comments in the tutorial about why you might not like the game after just mentioning that it became popular in Japan. (I may be reading into that too much)... Anyway, the inability to click and drag to highlight more than one cell at a time, the slow game response, and (as others have already mentioned) the non-unique solutions make this a tough game to like/love, especially when trying to play the arcade mode.
4/5. I liked the extras, although after enabling them and resuming a level, the game lost focus so I had to click around through other windows to regain the ability to control the miners. Zoomy (as @Axyraandas mentioned) and Upside-Down Camera made the menu very challenging/frustrating to manage; although it helped to be able to guess where to select and click the "Back" button.
I'm having a very difficult time playing this game (I've only played Arcade mode so far). I can't keep a unit selected for more than half a second without it automatically un-selecting it. I haven't been touching the spacebar or escape. Then when I try to reselect the unit, my screen re-centers to where I clicked, rather than selecting the unit.
It looks like it could be a nice game if the controls were fixed.
Seconding EvilTwinCZ on pixel hunting, I switched to using my trackpad after my mouse couldn't land on the exact right pixel for the yarn and cat tail; frustrating to say the least when I'm swiping the mouse over the screen because the mouse icon isn't changing at all except for those ten pixels that happen to be hotspots at the moment.
