@BenOwnage, most people want badges because achieving something always feels good, even if it's virtual. But some just want them because they want more points than everyone else. I simply play new games if I enjoy them and badges come along with it, sometimes I play for badges and then realise I really enjoy the game. Long story short, different people want different things.
