Aww... for a game that feels like a 30 second teaser, I enjoyed it a considerable amount. I was expecting it to be 3/5 due to the game mechanics (to realistic for us socially awkward types), but I enjoy the message. I wish that it had slightly faster speech text, and that you had slightly more time on each puzzle. I also wish that if you flunked out that she would beg you to try again next time the world ends instead of just handing you the happy ending, but overall 5/5 for that gooey feeling of love that you are left with.
Once I learned about the minimap proximity thing for catching pokemans, the game became less tedious. Overall it was well placed, and it finished just before it got boring. 5/5, just because I want to be the Charblezorb I want to see in the world.
I agree with Boingarooni about the times. Even without the most optimized strategy, it is quite possible to beat the boss at least once during the first 120 weeks. The second 120 weeks left me grinding him about 15 times (so right around 100 weeks is when I got to him), and the third 120 weeks left me 30+ times of pointlessly attacking the boss just for more score. The time frame is very reasonable and almost to long, actually...
For the person that asked why it was taking two weeks for your fight, its because you got injured and had to sit out for an additional week to recover. Buy the spa ticket to prevent it, otherwise you will be short on time.
The gameplay is great. The upgrade system leaves a good bit to be desired. Perhaps permanent upgrades, level system that encourages using more then one droid, and a better explanation of the different zones and why we should be encouraged to use different ones? Also, the game gets overly repetitive once you get past tier 5 enemies. Perhaps randomize the enemies with power upgrades?
My army of 18 trillion marches across the surface of the impossibly large world, wrecking havock and killing unimaginably large numbers more. Good game.
My second playthrough because I cleared my cache after the game first came out...
I managed to finish the game without ever loosing a barricade point, and I searched every day. Not to mention I finished with about 3000 left over time.
Like Digideus, I can't display the game properly. Fortunately, I already earned the badge. I'm just bummed out that I can't play again. All that I get is the game playing without shapes. On the plus side, I get to listen to the music without having to be stressed out about doing well.
It feels like a boardgame on the computer. That being said, I like board games. I would even buy a copy of this board game, if it was reasonably priced.
5/5, I figured out my previous mistake! I had been focusing on increasing the level of my lasers, but you can't forget about your infrastructure either. Man, the cut scenes are beautiful. My only advice for people is don't give up on the early levels. Once you figure out how to set up your planet the levels go faster.
4/5, I can't get past wave 6. This game really knows how to frustrate a dedicated fan. You can't help but come back to the addictive defense action, and the plot isn't bad either. Also, the multiplayer servers are always empty. Why doesn't anyone play this great game anymore?
Great atmosphere, decent graphics, and a smooth gameplay experience. I did have slightly "choppy" controls, but it was probably due to having a poor computer, not the game.
It is still possible to throw a piece of meat into the wall and have the orc attempt to climb the wall after it. 3/5 for the possibility of flawed controls, but if the engine was perfected it would be 4/5.
A solid game engine with decent graphics and a generally good atmosphere. The game lacks plot, the AI sucks, and as IPappi said, you can win everything by just jumping up and firing down... 3/
In addition to the popular note of getting behind him and doing your worst during the laser portion of the first stage, I recommend wacking the skull so that he doesn't reach the side points that he launches his fireballs. He slows down right before he reaches his firing points. If you wack him away from the firing points, he is delayed from firing and you get several more wacks at him.
