very good for your first try. i like the add of steam making for feel of endless cycle =3
a few things i suggest: i wouldn't make the steam to have enough force to hold up water- it just doesn't make too much sense lol, make the plants grow more wildly and make them flammable, might want to add an explosive, and since this gives more of a feeling of a ecosystem maybe add lifeforms other then plant, also make it easier to tell what i have selected as a tool, and maybe fix up the size of pen a bit.
i know thats a lot but these are just my suggestions. but in all this is a fun game and you did a good job for a beginner in this =3
just the right mix of simplicity and creativity, not too hard but it dose give a good amount of challenge. good job,

ok so here is something funny, i beat the game 100% before the awards, i return to see if i get my awards and i do get all of them. BUT my entire game data is gone.
not a strategy game but it was still fun to watch. i mostly started in the middle, it usually takes care of them and if not, well at lest your right over the restart button =3
its sad when my last character flys off.. spins around all the planets, and lands into a the sun....
1 thing i really dont like is the controls some times. like on set part of the planet it is correct then on the other side it is reverse. i end up running at the last second in the wrong direction.. and end the turn on a mine...
