I think you should not have a balanced range deck, but a specialized one.
Instead of adapting to situations (which requires to switch, which means you may get intercepted) you should make the situation good for you.
The Intro's Dialogue

The fairy was looking around the forest, making sure everything was fine. Her eyes settled on a nearby bird. That bird, she had decided, was her favorite. Suddenly, some insane birdhaters came into view, and snatched the bird. "WTF" the fairy screams, chasing the birdhaters. Sadly the ship they were in was too fast, and the bird was taken away.
"I know everyone is against me and will take very violent and agressive actions towards me, but I will save this bird............." shouts the Fairy, curling her fingers into fists, "*at the cost of my life!*" "You're NUTS!" the insane birdhaters shout behind them, disappearing into the distance. "Everyone's told me that," muttered the Fairy. "There's radical everironmentalists, and then there's me."
Got the hard badge. EXPERT TIPS ON FIGHT: Hit him in the beginning until he unleashes two attacks. He will promptly go the left and charge his laser. GET BEHIND HIM, jump and attack to start a combo which will get you more exp which will get you a higher level so you will do more damage. Keep attacking when he comes down to get more exp and more damage in. If he goes to the far right or left run to his side. Also, after firing his Fulp Laser he might go up and off screen. When that happens go under a platform. He will send some loaves of bread crashing down. Once they hit the platform, you still have to dodge. After you do enough damage to Tom, he will become a skull. His only attack is to send fireballs in all eight directions. Keep your distance, wait for the diagonal down fireball to pass, then move in to kill him. If you do this well enough you might get the last level without ever having to hit the tombstones. Enjoy, take the tips, get the hard badge.
Levels:
First, 0 exp: Blue armor, toilet plunger for a weapon.
Second, 100 exp: Green armor and a mace.
Third, 250 exp: Red Armor, and an axe.
Fourth, 650 exp: Gold Armor, a sword.
Final, 950 exp: FAB Pink Armor, and a lollipop. Plus when you swing the lollipop rainbows appear. I’m not kidding.
