How to win: A single railgun will completely annihilate all ground targets, if you get the timing right. Fire it at ground targets, fire your other guns at air targets and when the railgun is about to fire, aim at ground targets again. Then you need two miniguns for air targets. Lasers are slightly stronger, but aim too slow. The best vehicles for that are Viper, Beast and Punisher.
On secound thought, what is up with the randomness? Sometimes attacks do 1 damage, sometimes the same attacks do 75. Sometimes the enemy starts, sometimes I start, sometimes one gets a double move.
I like the battle system and how you can upgrade for your commander.
But the upgrade system is too complicated for the regular troops, because you have to do it for every single one.
To beat the challange mode: Try to always do wheelies. You get over stones, zombies and boxes easier that way. Try to reach 750 feet the first and 950 the secound day, if you realize you don't, reset the day, so you don't have to start from scratch.
The game has a great battle system.
But the biggest problem is the level design.
You fight 4 enemies, get a new Pokémon, and proceed to the next floor where you fight 4 enemies.
No secrets to find, no surprises. This should be the tutorial level, not the entire game.
I could never get the impossible badge, because I always thought I had to play the highest difficulty. But all I had to play was the easy Hardcore mode.
Use a Heavy Cannon as your main weapon. It is average at first, but once it gains a few leves, it does insane damage and takes out almost every ship in one hit. For defense you can use Decoy Drones and Auto Airships.
This game is so laggy, that it is amost unplayable.
You could blame my crappy compute or Linux for that, but many other games on Kongregate with better graphics run much better.
So far this game is not all that impressive. It is almost the same game as Tyrant.
Don't get me wrong, I am not acusing Card Monsters of ripping off Tyrant, because Tyrant is probably ripping off something else.
Who do so many of those card games feel almost alike?
Here is how you can really have some fun, activate everything in the bonus menu and play level 10. Then blast the boss immediately.
Because the enemies spawn depending on his remaining life, you will have tons of enemies on the screen.
One of the most impressive things is that you actually stuck with the keyboard control instad of making an halfasses keyboard/mouse hybrid like many other developers.
I am using linux myself :) Please try playing the game now. Rendering engine has been reimplemented.
