Please make it count as a win if your opponent doesn't have any active cards left in his deck. I just lost a storyline mission while i wiped the opponents deck, but because of the commanders weaken all+refresh my leftover troops couldn't do enough dmg in 1 turn to kill him, still causing a loss for me.
Or dont give commanders, even in storymode, an ability like refresh, which is nice for assaults, but can lead to imbalanced situations like i explained before when used on commanders.
If you say too much Magic the gathering and Yugioh, you miss the whole point of it being a CCG in general (or just dont like ccg), or have no knowledge of CCG at al. In the first place, Magic and YuGiOh amongst your mentioned real ccg's are hardly comparable to begin with. If you throw Clash into the pool, you are creating a 3rd group on its own.
@venom dipper: the t rex in the museum is made like that to be a challenge. If you hadn't noticed yet, the t rex himself only has 15 hp, so he is quite spikeable for an easy win.
I got to his arse the easy way by bringing some quick use + focus items, and throwing glacier wall down. This kept his early spawns at bay long enough to build up focus regen at the start of the turn, and in the meantime i was also spamming any direct dmg cards i drew. I kicked the trex himself by the time the walls came down.
Just 2 suggestions:
- It would be nice if you could choose to discard 1 or some cards in your hand you can't use them anymore (like ally cards when your grid is already full because the opponent doesn't bother killing them). This will enable players to keep cycling their deck in longer battles, without having the need to have some cards in your deck to kill your own stuff.
- Ad up damage over time and (focus)healing over time effects before showing them. The preturn upkeep takes ages for me if i draw my mental acuity and ice form a few times.
bit weak that the only reason later opponents are hard to beat is because they start with a fully upgraded base, while you have to kinda start from scratch. (Atleast a higher rank resource income structure for all type in the start would give you a bit fairer fighting chance...)
the game would be better if the AI decks in missions also were as good the tactic behind the combination of their cards. Not because there is some kick ass commander with multiple skills behind them. Good cards can be countered by killing them beore they come active, or by jamming them. However both these tactics can't be applied on commander. A commander with weaken 2 all and heal 2 all on his own units makes even the weakest card, which should be a 1 shot KO, on unkillable obstacle.
zz1000zz that situation that you describe is due to monster having different status minimums to defeat them. Especially if you have a character very strong at 1 status yet weaker on other fronts, you can get into situations you can't beat all in one area, yet beat some, or even all mobs in the area behind that, since your focus point status already makes you able to beat the mobs related to that. I remember having my necro skipping golem cave completely, since I could beat the 3 mobs of the swamp before I could beat all in golem cave.
Hitboxes of all chars and critters and such are way bigger than they appears to be, which is very nasty in some minigames. Like the squirrels in walk mode are pretty much undodgeable due to this, even on topheight of double jump you get hit still. Also could use some explanation on minigames to use some things, like the lighters, i never got further than flipping the lid for a small part. Due to flaws like this 1/5, since they make it pretty much unplayable in a decent way.
Nice Game in all. Btw. The trio (or quartet) that advances on you the moment you are to be announced Great Mage is quite beatable, even the guy with the 600+ combo shot.
This is how I did it: Poison mage: maxed poison wave, paralyse poison, 700 MP as most important features for this battle.
- Just throw a bolt 1st turn to advance.
- After that only use poison wave
- If he tries to use his combo shot, use paralyse poison instead to prevent him from launching.
Even though he dispels poison, he still takes 10 dmg each turn after you lauched a posion wave, so he will die nicely in the end. The 700 MP pool is needed to be able to use the 2 skills long enough. If you can beat this guy, the other ones shouldn't pose much of an obstacle.
For people that don't get the all chest medals, look harder. Sometimes there are chest in spots you cant can't see them at all. I got all "find all treasure" badges awarded, so it is very possible to get them. Just look harder.
Nice game, makes me remind of an old PC game called princess maker back when DOS was still the main OS. It could be better if some aspects were worked out some more in depth, like adventures and talking to people in the castle. For adventure think of events which give adventuring the possibility to affect status, and add extra areas than just the forest to explore. Adventure mode as it is now is just a money farm for those who train fighting skills.
As for the talking to the people of the castle. rewards are slim it seems, I only got some extra charisma from the camp follower, plus you need to have the prince confess his love to you, but all the others didn't do anything yet so far to me, beside changing their dialogues when i met the prerequisites to properly talk to them.
Get a spellcaster class. Normal attacks hardl hit at al. My paladin did hours to beat 1 single low lvl enemy and therefore took ages to lvlup. I made a priest and it's now lvl 9 in like 24 hrs and going strong.
- Game has saves for those who are complaining, but you need to reach the point's which can be quite hard at times on higher difficulties.
- For those complaining about heals, slime bunny is your best friend, his regen close to nullifies to need for normal healing, aside in boss battles. Especially if you get the upgrade skill.
- Last boss in Epic, ensure you got some automatic skills: Air support, Counterx2, magic counter, cat warrior and cat tamer. With all or a number of these you can just defend and let the automatic stuff take care of the damage. Also when defending the dmg you take in a turn will be healed easily by bunny. Also judgement is a good way to heal Natz, dealing a nice chunk of damage in the proces (You'd have to give up on defending though.).
Just beat epic difficulty. Very nice game, i like the battle system. Maybe in part 3 some more battles, or change the battle to battle marathon to some worldmap based adventure.
Nice game, but there are some minor issues.
- Lower the army penetration power of dark elves and the red knights, so your units can actually keep them away from your wall for a bit.
- Maybe make the send order customizable, rather than fixed with weakest first, elite, repairs. (Like dependant on selection order.)
4/5 from me
