The new increased random difficulty has changed the game from strategy with a reasonable chance of getting a level that eats most of your drops to mostly levels that eat your drops and little chance of getting anywhere without lottery winning levels of luck. On far to many occasions I have had round one be populated almost exclusively by 1 and 2 drop squaes. All this has been since the high score table was added, which is vey annoying to visit each time your game ends, by the way. In short, this game was challenging and fun, now its just frustrating. Let me know if you change it back. I'm done here.
Seriously needs an "UNDO" button that becomes active only when you have placed a drop into an empty square. I can tell you how many awsome combo's have been negated because I missed a square by a pixel or thought the round was over and went for the next round button.
This is the third time today I have come back to play this. You now have my 'official' permission to use the word "addictive" in the games description.
The random set up gives this game a lot of replayability, though it does mean that scoring is erratic. It would be nice if the instructions said specifically why you get extra drops durring your turn. Is is based on score? drops popped? combo level? I really can't tell for certain. Otherwise very good. Congrads!
Okay. I do like top down shooters and this one isn't bad. But the screen shaking every time you shoot gimick needs to stop guys!!!!! It doesn't make the game more exciting. Frankly it just gives me a headache. On the other hand, not bogging the player down with worrying about buying ammo and health packs is good. I think if this were expanded, (admittedly a lot) it would be really good. Add some missions, maybe some building interiors to explore. Maybe powerups other than grenades (which arent that useful once you have the shot gun.) to give the player a reason to do more than circle an intersection shooting... You could have something really good here. As it is it does get monotonous fairly quick. Overall I give it a "Not bad but I've seen it before" rating of 3.
