This is one of those games that for every good point, there is a bad point. Such a pity, I enjoyed the game for the most part but there are too many bugbears to recommend this game. The invisible ceiling spikes and lack of a help feature in level 15 being a couple.
Why am I playing a game that punishes you when your character plays video games?
Also, there needs to be more instructions or the player needs a lot more patience.
A decent game, nonetheless.
Until the (standard) ending, I was reading to give this a 5. I'm reserving my judgement until I see how hard it is to get the other ending AND if someone can explain the standard ending to me.
If the controls were more responsive, I'd enjoy this game. I'm on level 7 and to get out the crate while it's falling, you have to deftly tap the up button several times...
Another game just short of enjoyable. I have the best car and have tried different configurations but still can't win the last race.
Small tires make it bad to drive, big tires make it too slow...
Plus, another game that relies too heavily on using nitro....
I like this game enough not to mark one star off for each problem but it's not a game I can complete. As axxidental says, Tire upgrades should increase your handling. As such, slalom events aren't worth trying. Hitting objects is annoying - including depth of field, small hitboxes, unknown paths for Haddocks and of course, tire handling. As a smaller bugbear, you really have to heavily rely on Boost to finish later events, especially overtaking - which puts cars into packs that you can't draft between.
1 mark for limiting upgrade slots, 1 mark for not allowing full upgrades, 1 mark off for not allowing enough vision radius especially considering the poison gas and 1 mark off for the boss health/tip bugs. +1 mark for everything else.
Needs a FAQ map. Showing actual paths and obstacles.
Yes, I know Metroidvania does the same thing, which is why I usually download one when I play them.
How can I make more responsive controls?
