After "finding" the initial objects you just use them on yourself and "you" will automatically use them wherever they are needed. You can't actually click them directly on the "puzzle" as the game assumes you are too stupid to notice where the supposed "puzzles" are. I agree that this is a completely worthless and terrible escape game. Not even a story line or description of anything, just click randomly and your little guy does whatever he needs to do to escape.
The shooting gallery is pretty useless since the damage is miniscule. Launching a pirate is the only way to win against the rams, other than lots of armor. The gigaballs often didn't seem to do anything even though they are supposed to have a large blast radius, seeming to do less damage than a regular cannonball and didn't notice an impact on more than one ship. Fireballs are the way to go if you can afford it. The only way to make a descent amount of money is to up your speed and pick the highest bounty quests. Speed is important since all the early quests automatically send you to the opposite side of the world from wherever you are. Overall the game is really repetitive. Not the worst game but not particularly fun or interesting.
Good place to get stone=Darkwood quest (stone quarry)
Hunters=help prevent starving
Monks=protect against poison
Minotaurs=awesome fighters
Archers=range fighters
Henchmen=carry loot (30+ to carry all 200 stone)
Leader=Ern helps prevent starving
So Ash had a sword and traded it for scissors and dumped the sword. NOT COOL. Why couldn't he give it to another person in the group? Somehow a classring and a rock are better than a sword?
Wish the endless mode didn't have random difficulty. Would be nice if it progresses to difficult and stayed there, or all cases in endless mode were at least 3 star difficulty.
Navigating isn't hard if you use a piece of paper to note what is next to each other and the few places you can move behind the other buildings.
