Ranged: If you just click instead of clicking and firing, it'll shoot as soon as it possibly can. /!\ Critical: Watch the bottom of Sir Scarecrow's leg instead of looking for red splashes. When he bounces up, click, when it doesn't move, it's a decoy/skull. Decoys also produce a different audio sound. /!\ Spend all your points on attack, it's the slowest and hardest of the training methods (IMO) and shows the best results.
The "are you sure" request has been around for three YEARS. There have been numerous updates since then. Speaking as a guy who just misclicked and wasted 243 platinum? I think I'm 110% done.
@jooe Quite possibly, and I apologize for premature sharing of what I thought were good ideas. I really loathe losing my towers in games, yet while this kept me from losing even a single turret for most of the game, my particular strategy has led to me having serious trouble with the last stage due to insufficient DPS.
Once they hit max rank (VII), Nova Turrets can be upgraded into Galaxy Turrets for 50k gold. Their DPS increases dramatically at this point. ---- Aegis Barriers backed up by a few healers are VERY useful for quite a long time. You'll replace them with dropped Walls/Fortresses eventually (At a cost of 500k, the upgrade option which appears at rank VII is horribly impractical), so don't upgrade 'em completely, but just giving them a shield can go quite a long way. ---- You don't want things which would push the enemy away (Core Blasters, for example). Further away = less of your turrets which can shoot at them. ---- The last purchasable building, Zac Assimilators, may not be worth it. The upgrades for that particular building are VERY expensive and the fighters keep enemies away from your base. Yes, they attract fire, but when they die, you abruptly have a surge of enemies descending on your poor arse. ---- The unit limit, INCLUDING point upgrades, is 55.
Point usage order: Cheaper upgrades x5 -> Unit Limit x5 -> Damage x5. Achievements will give you 1 extra point each, so keep an eye out for those. They also don't give you the points until you click the little "achievements" tab. ----- Once they hit max rank (VII), Nova Turrets can be upgraded into Galaxy Turrets for 50k gold. Their DPS increases dramatically at this point and is superior to most other purchasable turrets. ---- Don't underestimate how useful Boosters can be. Aura upgrades stack, so having 9% of your base comprised of Boosters is worth it, IMO. ---- Once it's fully upgraded, regeneration will heal 1 hitpoint every 0.1 seconds, AKA 10 HP/second. ---- Zakana turrets are pretty great. Not only do they do quite a bit of damage by themselves, they can eliminate shields and can be upgraded to have an aura which increases the damage of those around them.
For those of you who are just here for the stupid quest (God damn, I hate this one so much):
Your best bet when the skull comes out is to just avoid it and charge your spells.
Apparently, the "day __" at the right is deceptive; in other words, if it says day 25, it's actually day 26.
I completed on "day 25", but apparently, I'm one off.
ARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Assorted tips: ((When you change classes, the weaponry/armor your person had is lost. ((Experience rewards are not split among the party, instead giving each person the full reward. Student types go in order of black-blue-orange-indigo-(Genius+?). ((The Slyph Dust, Uka Uka, Scattered Memories, and the "Paladin Training" chain are all disproportionately easy compared to the rewards. ((Medics are your friend. A Faithful paladin wearing Iron Pants with a medic healing him/her is close to invincible. ((If you put an A, B, C, etc. before your student names, it becomes a lot easier to assemble "teams". ((Alone is awful, 25% or so speed. ((Early-game, when you only have one party to send, do NOT send them on an errand unless you want to spend 15 minutes afk. Late-game, you always want to have the errands occupied with parties of 4. {{If this was helpful, please +! Otherwise, feel free to let it die.

((Alone is perhaps the worst ability a person can have, it makes them move at about 25% (I think) speed. Suggestion if you ever do a sequel: When you get a "Break Record Altitude" bonus, make it scale on the amount you beat it by? I kept finding myself barely break it to get the bonus, then just suiciding. Other then that, great game!
So at week four, month 1, I encountered The Apprentice.
(total damage from my troops: 75 DPS) Apprentice hp: about 36000
Me: this is going to take a while...
