How We Came to be the IKRC

Theabnegation: this room, and some specific people are definitely why i’m as close to sane as I am now, possibly alive in general. when i first came here i was a complete wreck. my mom had died a few months before, my relationship with my dad was nonexistent.
Jess and Kat kept me from going completely off the deep end , and Jess took me in when I couldn’t stay at home anymore.
But then jess’ aunt died and she couldn’t help, and rose was focused on helping her. they left for a while, which ended up helping jess a lot, but in the meantime i was left in a new house alone, my one friend miles away, so pretty much out of desperation I came here.
Jess had suggested i might find some friends here given a little time, and anything was better than being alone right then. i was still an emotional disaster, barely coherent half the time, but i still found a welcome here.
Even some of my early arguments with phex were helpful in a way, at least they gave me something to do, something to get..annoyed at, besides myself. Found an anchor here, that i didn’t expect to, people that were accepting, and understanding, and didn’t just ignore that i was hurting or tell me to keep it to myself.
phex in particular, but crinkle, scara, savvy some too, just helped me express it better, and handle it more appropriately. and ever since then, I come here and it’s one of the few places, online or off, where someone asks me how i’m doing and i just tell them.

Crinkle: i’m here to get to know you all. when i make comments like the one i made before, it’s because i feel like i’m actually getting to know you like i want to. that’s why i was initially here, in this room, ever, to begin with. When i first got here, i was agoraphobic. that was two years ago. i had absolutely zero social skills and absolutely zero face-contact with anyone but my parents. because of THIS ROOM. because of people talking, and accepting what i said at first, and not kicking me out and treating me like a troll or a loser…because of THIS ROOM have a job now. i leave the house every day. i’ve been promoted. i’m doing charity work. i go to huge functions in front of hundreds of people. because of YOU PEOPLE, you guys.
