For end game, what this needs is some sort of auto-clone feature, or skill point. My clone skills are maxed, but I still need to attend the screen every 5 minutes to clone pixels. Even if it's a skill granted by completed the clone quadrant, end game really needs that!
Pro Tip: once you can reach Gen5, the real method of progress in this game is cloning. Ignore the upper right skill quadrant completely; just get the other three, ensuring that you focus on acquiring the four corners of each. Then, every 5 minutes, you can clone your way to increased pixels and the next Gen level.
I like the addition of speed boost. However, after being away from the game for three days, I come back to it and I only get 52 minutes of x5 boost. It's a good start, but needs a little more refining. Perhaps not a 1-to-1 relationship based on the time away, but better than what it is.
Zone 6 is the real sticking point for me. Have to grind to upgrade AK-47 to be able to earn enough stars for the double-grenade buff. Still fun though.
The Undead "Night Time" spell claims to boost the production of assistants for 20 seconds. This boost does not affect faction coins, however, which assistants help procure. I suggest changing the wording of the spell, or adding faction coins to the boost.
When holding down the CTRL key, I would like to see the cost of buying 10 buildings of the type I've chosen. That's my most consistent gripe. But a minor one. An enjoyably diverting game!
Glitch I've encountered while trying to beat level 200. The dragon one-hits me, and so I go back to farm gold on a lower level for a few hours. Bump up the Warrior's health and then just hit the Auto Forward button to get back up to the dragon. BUT... it shoots me up to level 201, bypassing the dragon completely. So now I'm auto-progressing from level 201, and didn't have to beat the dragon. WUT?
For me, getting past the first dragon at level 100 required the following: Warrior health level 111 (600 health) to take the first hit, Rogue stun level 100 and speed level 100. That way, after absorbing the damage from the first hit of the dragon, the Rogue left him standing there stunned, unable to hit at all while my Warrior plugged away at his health.
One tip that's not obvious from the main screen (it's a scrolling tip) is that if you 3-star a world on monster difficulty 7 or higher, it'll automatically level you up. So once you've progressed part way through the map, you can go back and do the first couple levels on difficulty 7 to level up faster.
FYI badge-hunters: you get your 30th customer on day 29. So you have to be willing to play that long. To speed things up, don't bake the cupcakes, and add only frosting before serving.
From what crafting I've done so far, the demonic equipment seems to give about 5× the base stat of the magical item it is transmuted from. Keep that in mind if you're too eager to use some coal immediately. When selling, the legendary has given me an average of 2 million, and the one demonic item I sold gave me 10 million. Not sure if that will ramp up as stats increase.
TIP: when you finally do get coal, your first demonic crafting should be with gloves + feather. The gloves stat increases luck, and demonic gloves will greatly increase the quality of all future drops, including coal frequency.
Remember to get the "Free Gold" stuff as soon as you start. You can just close the tabs as soon as you hit the related links, but it'll get you 10k free gold, and an easier start to the game.
How I got the 144th star: use the last ship with four weapon slots, arm yourself with the Meteor Canon (sic) in all of them (fully upgraded), and put Damage Amplifiers in all four of the ship's addon slots. Success in getting all 128 kills on the level seems to depend on the placement of powerup drops. Sometimes a ship will get through, or you'll die trying to prevent it. But powerups or bombs at the right time should see you through.
For those looking to get par on level 5, don't crouch and wait for the rain to stop -- you have to jump and glide over the first hydrant so it rains on you while you're gliding.
I don't have to hit reset when I die. I can press spacebar to advance to the next level. And the controls don't force me to be pixel-perfect. THANK YOU!
It will be one of the next things we add, check out the Updates tab on the right :)
