Wonderful! Everything in this game feels like an improvement, from the great extra character animations to the refined controls to the, uh, "plot." ;) There's only one thing: the wall jump feels less intuitive than I remember. Otherwise, this is perfect. 5/5
It hasn't been taken off. Like some other conversation options throughout the game, it won't appear unless your Aptitude is high enough. Aptitude represents how perceptive your character is, after all.
That boss is pretty easy, actually. Just hang back and pick off enemies bit by bit. Stay away from the boss at the bottom until you've taken out the other enemies, rested, and healed.
Hey guys, there's a FAQ on SinisterDesign.net if you're having trouble. Also, that guy doesn't really have 999 life; he just keeps you from seeing his true health.
When I first came to this page, I was pretty shocked to see that this game was rated so low. This is one of the Top 25 flashes--and Top 8 flash games--on Newgrounds.
Then I started playing, and realized the problem--the display size is tiny! I happen to love the clever dialog in this game, but the text is small and kind of blurry because it was resized. I played for about three minutes before my eyes started to hurt. I know that Kongregate displays Telepath RPG Chapter 2 at the right size, so I can't imagine what the problem is here. Maybe you should email Greg?
It's loading pretty quickly for me. You might just be playing at a time of day when Kongergate's servers are being accessed by a lot of people at once.
Does anyone else think it's hilarious that a developer called Cerebral Games created a mindless shooter starring an anime woman with big breasts? It doesn't seem very cerebral to _me_, anyway. :P
Blazinice, the last two shadowling bosses have their health display as 999, but that's not their actual health! And believe me, it's quite possible to kill them.
Nice graphics, but the game lacks a certain...how you say...plot, characters, or even basic niceties like a function to auto-change weapons when you run out of ammo. Meh, I say.
The game autosaves whenever you enter an area--it does not autosave in between battles. If it did, it could cause swerious problems when someone loses a lot of characters on the first of a three-in-a-row battle.
The way TRPG2 is coded, it looks in a different directory for saved games whenever the game's file name changes. If your game doesn't show up on the load screen but you can find it using the Search instructions in the Game Description above, it's because Kongregate is changing the file name around. I can't control that, unfortunately.
All I can say is, if this keeps up, you can always play it on SinisterDesign.net. I have never once lost a saved game playing on that site.
I've actually never played Earthbound, believe it or not, though I hear the characters in that game have psychic powers too. ;)
For help with any of the missions, visit the Sinister Design forums; folks have been making walkthroughs of the missions left and right!
Also, Tastidian and the boss just after him don't actually have 999 health--their health is just concealed from you. ;)
