Game says i need to hire an employee by pressng the button in the top right corner. There is no button in thhis corner. There aren't any buttons I can press.

the best way to get 1 000 000m pts is to try to get a flock of 16 right at the beginning and keep it as long as possible, as the points you get for any extra goose/swan increase. By doing so, you should be able to get 1m after 30 Seconds (Bird bonus +25000 and the i had it). Later on its almost impossible to get a full flock due to the high "air traffic"
The 3-minutes survival works the other way: only get 3-8 birds in your flock to keep it agile and try to stay as close to the center of the screen as possible to have enough time to react. Also, try to get the Poseidon-Upgrade (invulnerability overseas) before buying the diamond one as you will fly often overseas while the diamond will only save you 3 times. I managed to survive 282 seconds with this strategy.
