oh, also....kind of not cool to steal music from super mario. easily recognizable even though it has been modified a bit.
as for your bug, just stick this in your "death" code (replace musicObject with your actual music object name): tellTarget (_root["musicObject"]) {
stopAllSounds();
}
there are some good ideas here, but the execution is very poor. in addition to fixing the music loop bug (wow!), you need to fix the hit tests. for example, with the lasers it looks like you're just testing against a container movie clip rather than the actual dimension/location of the beam. i'd suggest also speeding up character movement a bit, adding a mute button, and a lot more polishing/cleaning up of the gameplay and user interface.
not bad, but the casino is pointless. the payback percentages are way-way too low to make the gambling worthwhile. the payback on the 7 bet is only 33%. this means that for every $5 you bet, you can expect to get just $1.66 back. the 2 bet is the best payout, but it's still only 83% payback and a 2.78% chance of hitting. The worst games in real casinos pay back at least 90%...well, except for maybe keno. For something like this, I'd suggest making the paytable pay back 100% to 110% to make it fun for the player and worth playing at all.
"Get no credits for hand that comes thru on river. I.e. I pick up 2 pair (or a straight, or flush, etc) on the river, I get no points/$."
Yes, you do. It's paid automatically (see the paid box and the increase of what's shown in credits). Two pair doesn't pay on the river; see the pay tables.
pretty complete rip off of Chuzzle from popcap. 0 changes other than making the fuzzy creatures into stars. at least add something new...although i guess it's hard to innovate a pick 3 game at this point.
arsejam, i see that you're not on the leaderboard for money played, which means that you've spent less than 200 credits. this means that you've played probably less than 50 games. casino games take millions of plays to true out and have high volatility, which is what allows some lucky people to be short term winners. also, this is a "free game" mode paytable, which pays out higher than it would in the casino...because losing is no fun. if you click through blindly to the river on every hand, the payout is about 75%, which will eventually get you broke (see the "Busto" stat).
The AI makes no sense with their betting/raising and it would be nice to be able to speed up play. The cheats are a little unbalanced, but I guess it's cool that some of the more powerful ones can get you caught.
not sure it really belongs in puzzle games, since random clicking has pretty much the same chance of succeeding as any other strategy. nice game, short though.
Connect the dots needs a retry button (or a timeout)...and well, to not bug out if you've already colored over a higher number before it's turn.
The torches need to have a little bit bigger hitbox in the light more torches "puzzle". Oh, and it's spelled definitely. With an 'I'.
Nice looking game, though.
I opted against adding in a hard game over, and instead allow the player to hit the Restart button to retry a level if they get stuck and run out of moves. I guess I didn't cover the restart button in the tutorial :)
similar concept to the game i posted a few days ago. i also beat it without seeing a creature, the collision detection is pretty bad (looks like you're using the mask bounds some places rather than the character), and the character moves way too slow.
