While I love the flavor of the game, the gameplay is weak. Against hordes of small enemies, the only strategy is to hold down attack until one lifebar runs out (yours or theirs), and against big enemies it's a game of who-will-be-stunlocked-first? Overall 3/5 for great, amusing flavor over mediocre gameplay.
Fun mechanics, but suffers in the lack of any goal beyond a high score. With high upgrades, the game becomes fairly luck-based; fuel cans restore a huge amount, so basically you can keep going until you hit a long dry patch.
In-game achievements seem oddly bugged. I got the Tailoring recipe achievement well before I had 20 recipes, and I have reached level 90 of the unfinished dungeon without getting the achievement for reaching level 50.
"Good day: Hit chance 66, only missed seven times in a row =D" Just so people don't complain about this, this has a 1 in 2187 chance of happening. That sounds small, but this game has been played by enough people that even if each player only played one battle, it would still happen 100 times.
I loved the previous game, but something feels off about this one. I think my main problem is the zombie AI. I can't count the number of times I'd have dozens of zombies running in circles until they decayed without bothering to attack the survivors in clear line of sight. Still, a very solid game.
So, I work here 7 days a week, all day (since I'm the only employee from opening till closing). Starting salary (i.e. my first week's pay) was $120 per week. Assuming an 8-hour day and that Papa obeys overtime laws (not guaranteed), that's $1.88 an hour. This is less than minimum wage even for a tipped worker. Even with tips, I still only made $6.20 an hour, a full dollar per hour less than the federally mandated minimum wage. On top of that, I have to pay any business expenses (including machinery for the store) out of my own pocket. Oh, and the sole employee is a minor. The employees of the Papa's empire seriously need to unionize.
Honestly, I wanted to like this game. I really did. I've played several games like this before, but rarely is the ally AI this good. Often, in a game like this you have to carry your entire team and work twice as hard as they screw up. Here, the team actually fights well and goes for objectives. Unfortunately, the penultimate campaign level is just straight-up not fair. Trying to go 4-on-1 in a deathmatch or even CtF scenario is one thing, but even if you can hold your own in the fight they'll still likely control 2 points because you can't hold territory. The respawn system in general annoys me, because it's almost entirely unpredictable. I really wish I liked this game more, but I can't justify better than 2/5.
A fun little shooter, not challenging but enjoyable. 4/5 on the merits, but I automatically deduct 1 star if the addition of badges wipes save files, so 3/5.
no they're not.
