Dull, too much grinding. I'm stuck near the end of the game, there are no open quests, and I'm still about 1k away from being Allied to each faction. This was after having to restart because the late-game quests were nigh-impossible as a wizard, since the wizard doesn't have nearly enough damage to kill off more than one foe if they're ranged.
While writing the above comment, a meeting cutscene was running, and it finished with "This meeting is over, now f*ck off!" This sort of hilarious writing is why I gave this game 5/5.
Game is terrible. Gameplay is boring and repetitive. The whole reason Guitar Hero is fun is the guitar controller, and you cannot simulate that on a keyboard. Even worse, the music sucks, so there's no real draw. 1/5.
This game is stupid. Bowmaster ripoffs are all too slow, and you manage to make it worse by letting the AI openly cheat when it's losing. If you want to make the game hard, try making a smart AI, not a cheap one. Got the card, rated 1/5, never coming back.
An improvement over the first, but some flaws remain and some new flaws come up. The clicking & dragging everywhere is annoying, and almost everything it does could be done more easily with just clicking. I like the new runes mechanic, much better than the last game's enchantment mechanic. The forging idea is good, but it would be easier if it were more expensive, but guaranteed success. Paying 200 for the 10th level with a 2% success rate is pretty much the same as paying 10000 for the 10th level with a 100% success rate. Money is still too plentiful, and the late-game feels like mopping up for a big chunk of the game, but the duels mechanic is somethig new. Overall, a good but still flawed game.
Um, wow. I started an Order character, set up an army with 20 basic melee units and 10 basic archers. First thing I did was attack Lunde. Got beaten up, down to 5 archers & me vs. about 6 of the guys with warhammers - no contest. Except I was able to just lead them around in circles while my archers cut them up, and I jumped to level 14 in about 5-10 minutes. Dead-easy card.
I would give this a 4/5, it's a new spin on a dry genre, and the plot is engaging; only flaw is that missions take too long to get underway - I don't like waiting too long for the first target. However, it gets a 2/5 for lack of a save feature. The plot is just too long to make it impossible to start from the middle.
Good concept, game needs work. The basic game is good, but the AI is laughable. Improve the AI, and add a quickplay mode with either one of several pre-built decks, or a pseudorandomly generated deck. Multiplayer would also be good, but that's hard to implement. 4/5, with the potential for a 5/5 sequel if you clean up some of the flaws.
Decidedly average. Better-than-normal for an online game, but still weak. Combat takes too long (primarily because healing is far too easy). Allies are incapable of strategizing, game would be greatly improved if allies were controllable. My attempts to use subversion to bring down strong, healing enemies were repeatedly ruined by either overeager or undereager allies.
Gameplay is mostly good, albeit ripped off from better games. Sniping mission control is lousy. Losing a mission takes too long: if I've already lost, I want to end that attempt and start over quickly.
One of the few fun tower defense games. Automatic 5 from me for including the ability to prioritize targets. Every TD game should be legally required to include that feature.
2/5. I gave 5's to the previous games, and the sniping missions were fun, but the knife mission destroyed it. Frustrating and unfun, in contrast to the amazingly fun sniping part.
