Very impressive score; you must have found the bonus stages too! I fixed those areas you mentioned, and also made it so you turn semi-transparent if you don't move for a few seconds. Hopefully that takes care of it.
The arms on the first boss sort of already are their own HP meters, but adding a "total" meter wouldn't be a bad idea at all. I'll get right on that. Thank you, Urchin!
And gsklee: I agree with you on that, but it's difficult to find or make some nice super-ambient melody.
Urchin, you make very good points. The first mirror is an actual mirror, and the second reversal is supposed to be a curse of some sort. I changed the colour indications around on the mirrored arrows to hopefully differentiate. As for the last boss stage, you now only have to activate the nodes once. The door will remain open. Wow, Zantier, you've really impressed me! Those are all problems that must have slipped past me, not intentional. I'll work on them right now. The last boss especially! And yes, 10hp is max, with all the fins. How did you pass stage 13 without the mechanical fish? It's a decoy! It's also used extensively in the 3rd bonus stage. Oh hey, I saw this before in someone's signature on the penny arcade forums *lurker*. Fun game and really cool concept. Much more actiony than your typical game.
I should make the description more detailed, I guess. I was kind of hoping people would experiment with the specials, as there's some hidden functions.
As for continuing, each 5 stages is a chapter. The chapter start level and the boss are checkpoints.
