Per my earlier complaint, the Abilities and Zone 4 Special Training are limited to a number of uses per "day". A "day" starts when the page is loaded. Reload as needed. (Just another poor design decision.) HTH.
@Diamondblade: You clicked the prominently placed purple button in the middle of the menu. This button is "Re-Spec", resets your Abilities and Skills, and requires reloading the page after five uses. Yes, the game could not have passed the simplest UI/HCI review. Almost every game places the reset button near the information being reset. This game does not even open the Abilities page to show that your choices were discarded and must be chosen again. I sent a long comment including this issue to ArmorGames a few hours ago.
"Wait for tomorrow" is not nice. My Lvl 18 Gunslinger cannot defeat Sinjid's Shadow, get blasted at ~17,000 hp. Decided to train. Need Electro Bolt for the Illusions, but cannot reassign the Abilities until "tomorrow".
@stabs420: I agree the change location buttons seem backwards. I have clicked the wrong one five times. Wasted the mana and lost because my card needed the other range. Better would be dialog over the locations with appropriate text: "Force Stay" "Move Far" "Move Near" and "Pass". This would also help newbies notice action is needed; highlighting gold is not noticeable.
@VT_gamer: On Level 41 now. Same thought. Complete the badge and return to Monsters' Den: Book of Dread for better controls and selling items rather than just destroying them.
Can't Touch This Badge: Forget resetting. Going for the badge, I was hit on every level. A good streak ending Level 19 plus the easy early waves of Level 20 acquired the badge. Got hit by a teleporter and the Badge appeared.
Completed game after realizing the + (plus button) between levels will completely refill health. I was low after Level 15. Also refilled for Level 20 - unneeded as that level was easy. Final two were sniper and yellow stuck together and alternating firing; lost more health defeating them than rest of level.
@Restart Complainers: First 5 levels are only ~50. Know I was hit on 3, 6, and 8. Hit on every level above 10. Completed game for Best So Far 93. More enemies dying quickly on later levels so may be easier to streak enemy deaths.
@gknight: Stone of Wonder was difficult. Delay for many skill points. Physical is useless. Pave the center row. Many Energy with four Poison upgraded into the join. All Poison on starting squares: two at entrance; one center bottom edge and lower on right edge.
227 seconds. Finally! 246 during challenge. Many tries with half in the 250s. Dying (many times quickly) is difficult. Still not certain of sequence for Contra; "a" after "jmtb02"does not always work.
This game is like drag racing before learning to drive. Learning music is always slow-fast-slow-fast. Learn the notes at very slow, then try at full speed, then slowly practice a difficult part, then try full speed, and repeat until everything works at full speed. Practice mode should allow repeating a section at several speeds.
Need a different system for indicating missed notes. The volume dropping for mistakes greatly increases the difficulty. Playing guitar with a band, when I lose my place, I skip a measure to match timing with the drums. The variable volume loses the best information for matching the timing.
Awful default controls. The left hand matches well with the keyboard turned sideways, but the right hand cannot match 4 fingers for 4 rows using the arrow keys. The middle finger cannot remain on one key. Let players reassign keys. The current keys are better for piano; most guitar players would switch hands -- more comfortable with the left hand doing intricate fingering.
@Annihilator: The target control is just below the fireball. Clicking the fireball would better meet players' expectations. Best would have any mouse-down not on a button (Suicide, Mute) display the targeting control. Separating the Power control from targeting would be nice; targeting while using less than full power is difficult.
The R and Q keys should work on the "You lose" screen. "Reset" and "Choose Level" should have buttons on the level screens to avoid requiring a keyboard.
The level screens should display the best time achieved, the time needed to achieve the 160 second total, the lowest shot count, and the shots needed for ACE.
Extra modes would be good. An "Ace mode" could automatically reset the level if the number of shots for ACE are exceeded. A "Speed mode" could return to the same level rather than advancing.
FYI: I have the 44 ACEs; I want to know which levels can be improved for the time criterion of the Pyromaniac Badge.
@Blasterzilla: Won Level 18 with Orcs. A dragon and angel destroyed the castle, added cerebi, angels, and dragons until won. King of Hell did not completely enter the screen. Would have been faster if the King was within range of my arrow tower.
Reported two bugs. 1) Slow computers not displaying beginning-of-level messages may not complete Level 50 -- balloon creation stops but the level never ends. 2) The Going Bananas Badge is not awarded if choose "End" after Level 50; must choose "Play On".
@GeneralSturn - Good strategy for Corrupter if using Rogue, but Rogue is front row with poor armor. The copies are rather stupid -- the Cleric cast Holy Light 4 times. Remove Flickering Flames from Mages; receiving your own attacks is very annoying.
