This is interesting... but I don't think it's my thing. It might be nice for some, but I guess I'm a more hands-on player. Good game, but I crave something where *I* get the praise for doing something, and only *I* can be to blame for something being done wrong.
Protip guys: Put BERSERK skill on Natz! If she has it, then she can cast it on others....
Cuz if she has it, then on his turn, Matt can temper himself, then Natz can 'zerk him and he deals award-winning damage!
I keep forgetting to do that with my playthroughs! It would REALLY help to be able to do that in ONE turn as opposed to two!
Huh, things seem... normal in epic mode.. Like in EBF 2 I would be crying by this point, but things seem easier... still hard, the Protector gave me massive trouble (only just beat him), but WOODANG is this fun...
I think in the next one, for I will there to be another, Lance's Scan ability should be upgradable to a max of level 2, which allows you to scan all foes on the screen at once (ignoring any foes you already know about). And it pulls up the uppermost new monsters data, when you click close on that, it goes to the next new monster... Other than that, the only new things I'd recommend are a) another new character (for a party of four), maybe another female, b) keep the humor fresh and hilarious, c) keep the music awesome! Great job dood. This game series is barnone the best flash series I've ever played!!
Solstace Critique 2/2: ...The dialogue is my biggest complaint, tho. While I understand that for a story to unfold, one must elaborate, I feel this game has too much elaboration! Exposition more like. When the characters in this game start talking, THEY START TALKING!! And then don't stop talking! Reminds me of that Dragon Age Origins game... too much talking, too much explaining, not enough letting the story seep out. ........ All those cons said tho, I'm still playing it, so there must be some big part of me that likes this enough to continue.. maybe it's the random a.d.d. jokes in here, or maybe how everyone just flat out says the obvious of what they are doing. Overall 5/10 in my book. Fun but not too deeply vested into it. It's no Epic Battle Fantasy! *not expecting a good vote on this... but he spoke his mind*
Solstace Critique 1/2: This game is rather hit-and-miss for me. I like the battle style, and the level up system. The skill gaining is too painfully like FF9, which I found obnoxious, speaking as a game-grinder. The jokes are either okay or really REALLY funny! (example: "Yay, I have a beard!! Whee" or "This wall is my friend")... I find that while the art is okay, all age groups look the bloody same. That blue-haired "Elly" girl at the lake? I thought she was 20-something! "Little girl" Deugan called her? Hell no she was like 24! That, and she totally looked like FF4's Rydia (which I think was the nod that was being made, so I can let that slid). All the character models look the same. You got generic guy model, and generic girl model. The face structure is the same....
Gah! That damned Duel Dragon Lich! GRAH! The beginning of every battle with him! Both heads call Death, and Death instikills us! Sure this is Epic mode, but I still want a bloody chance! I've even blinded both heads, AND THEY STILL DEATH ME! I will kill him.. them.. so help me gods!
Woohoo, finally beat Zombie Goku, alas only on normal mode!
Woulda been nice to know that Natz can heal MP when defending, relying on that damned moogle for mp pots during Z-Goku was a pain, like halfway through the battle I stumbled across that little protip! Then when I beat game and looked at gallery, it said that under Natalie's description! GAH! Hahah! At least now I can say I've beaten all 3 EBF games!
Still awesome, still badass, and still the main reason why I play flash games! Can't wait to see EBF4 *assumes one will happen* Could use a second female party member! (Or the guys will eventually get bored of looking at Natalie all the time! Haha!)
All in all this game is a 50/5! '.^~*
